I will go again and again!. I had a great experience here!! I just walked in and was immediately taken care of. Dennis cut and blew out my hair, and he is FABULOUS! I was so impressed. I have been to so many salons in New York trying to find a place I really love, and I have found it!! And the price tag is a lot more affordable than the other salons I have visited. GO GO GO! You'll walk out with wonderful hair!

U must try this place!!!.
If you want your locks sun kissed or completely transformed into Blonde Goddess status then make an appointment with Ilena! She has amazed me with her talents, a complete color wizard. I promise you once you go you'll never let another colorist touch your hair, she's just that good!
Before I use to go to some fancy salons, spend a lot of money ($300.00!!!!for hair cut) untill I found "Vanilla Hair Spa". Now I am safe. My hair look healthy and beautiful for less:) money than I spend before. I love it!

very satisfied. I needed a place to get my hair done , my former stylist left the city for warmer grounds down south ... help ... now what , I had tried a few friends stylist but was not happy so,I still had no stylist , my hair is growing and my roots are showing .I was looking on city search and found this place , it had a good review and I tried Vanilla Hair spa ,, I found Linda , and she is fabulous ,, she is now maintaining my hair very well !, very satisfied ...highly recomend her ,,

Most interesting Hair Cuts in Manhattan. I went into Vanilla Hair Spa not expecting more then a touch up you know get your hair cut looks the same only even and clean. After talking to the the stylist I decided to let them give me a new look. And WOW was I surprised at how great my hair looks now and the price around $50 which is pretty good for a wash and cut but as a image upgrade to my looks priceless.... I would high recommend getting your hair done there...

Very affordable, Excellent knowledgeable staff. After trying many places in Soho, Midtown and the UWS, I finally decided to try this place after reading the reviews on Citysearch. I am so glad I did! I got a half highlight with free cut from Linda and I am so glad I did. She was very knowledgeable about what I needed and I loved my cut and color. The best I have had since moving to NYC, and I was very happy with the price. Teresa gave me the best shampoo and head massage ever. Highly, highly recommend it!

Finally relief from a great place!.
wow,, I am sooooooooooo happy:):):) now.
My hair was a disaster , I had gone to a very expensive salon in Mid town that was recommened to me from a co worker. I spent a small fortune on some famous idiot to do my highlights and only to have him ruin my hair .I was told about VANILLA HAIR SPA , this local salon a few months ago by another girl who I meet and she had amazing highlights ,, but unfortunately I chose the wrong place ,,
well now I was forced to do something with my brassy ugly hair , and the salon that did them only jerked me around more , I was so upset ,,,
Thats when thank god I found VANILLA HAIR SPA ,,,, there I was with my horrible brassy roots almost in tears and I meet this GREAT ! colorist 'LINDA " , I had heard good things about her from the neighborhood , all the locals know her and say shes does amazing work . some people at the gym have mentioned her too .Now its my turn ...
Linda fixed my hair,, she was so thoughtful and professional I felt totally comfortable in her hands.
I will never go to these over priced superstar salons anymore ..and the prices are reasonable . I am staying here Vanilla Hair Spa I thank you for your great service and fixing my hair a loyal client ... forever :):):)
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.........ASK FOR LINDA .. She is the best..

great hairstylist. Ilena has been my hair stylist for the past 7 years and she is absolutely fabulous. She both cuts and colors my hair , it's surprisingly affordable, given how expensive NY salons can be. Her haircuts last a long time and grow out really nicely. Ilena can do a funky 'do or a conservative one depending on your personal style. I get compliments on my highlights constantly. Ilena also does an amazing blow-out on my curly hair -- it's poker-straight, smooth & super-shiny by the time she's through with it. This is a salon with no pretense; it's warm & welcoming and the focus really is on beautiful hair. You'll be in excellent hands with Ilena and your hair will look fantastic. Allow for a little extra time to find parking so you won't be late for your appointment like I usually am :-)

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. I was looking for a new place closer to my apartment to get my hair done. I made the ultimate mistake by chosing this place. I went in for a simple highlight and trim. the highlights are OK, but definitely not what i wanted. she would have known that if she had taken 30 seconds to ask what color i wanted. but the worst part is when she started the cut. i specifically told her that i was growing everything out and to only TRIM the ends. it only took her about 4 minutes to cut my hair, so i assumed that she had only trimmed as i had requested. of course she didnt dry my hair so i could not see the results when i was there. after i dried my hair, i thought i was going to cry. i have the worst layers ever. i have been growing my hair out for 5 months to find that i have to start from scratch again. i cannot wear it down, or it looks like i have a mushroom on top of long hair. the absolute worst place i have ever been and do not recommend to anyone...EVER!

Sorry you were not satisfied with the stylist who serviced you from our salon.
All our staff are highly qualified and very experianced , you are welcome at anytime to speak to our management staff to satisfy the problem that you had . Unfortunetly we were not aware of a problem the day you had your service.

Excellent Service, Affordable, Chic!. I started getting my hair cut with Oksana (Roxy) when she was still at another salon. Then she and some other great stylists opened their own place -- Vanilla Hair Spa! What a wonderful place! The setting is peaceful, comfortable, totally relaxing. I have sent many friends to Vanilla and they have similarly rave reviews! The prices are great, esp. for NYC; the staff are friendly, and the styles, cuts, color totally chic! If you want the most relaxing hairwash and massage known to (wo)man, the best girl is there on Fridays and Saturdays usually.
