In Short – In their tribute to seasonal Greenmarket cooking, the owners have created a gigantic, tendentiously rustic temple to the genre, carefully decorated with stressed woods and oversized wagon wheels, to say nothing of the vast and ancient millstone that dominates the bar area. But the real draw here is the cooking of wunderkind chef Ryan Skeen, whose meaty menu is simultaneously refined, edgy, and rustic--in a quintessentially New York way. Skeen's flap meat and fatback burger is justly celebrated, but it's the charcuterie platter that is Skeen's masterstroke: a hot and cold…

www.IrvingMillTickets. com

Access Gotham presents a high energy New Year’s Eve revelry at its finest when Gramercy Park’s sexiest, most sophisticated venue.

Hey, let’s face it! We’re in Manhattan so old fashioned takes on a whole new meaning defining only its charming ambiance and sumptuous décor. This place has a whole lot of swagger and a few celebrity investors (We don’t like to name drop, but we'll give you a hint: Law & Order alumni).

Located steps off of Gramercy Park, in walking distance to Union Square, Irving Mill earned its notoriety as an innovative green market restaurant serving fine American fare with a touch of French and Italian influence. Boasting an extensive menu of wines, specialty cocktails and microbrews, it quickly earned a reputation as a nightly après-dinner hot spot for scenesters, celebs and hip Manhattanites. The Old World décor is as inviting as its friendly and attractive staff of consummate pros ready to show all of its guests a good time. The layout boasts three distinct areas including the Bar Front Tap Room with an impressive zinc bar, the Main Room with comfy banquettes and the intimate Wine Cellar – perfect to mix and mingle with old friends…and after a six hour premium open bar, surely make new ones by the wee hours of 2010!

What’s in a name? Well, in the case of Irving Mill, it pays homage to both the original tools for processing food and spirits as well as historic author Washington Irving. For New Year’s Eve 2010, make your own history! Irving Mill’s reputation of chilled cocktails with a smoking hot party vibe are not for the faint at heart so get ready to drink, dance and have a blast! Tasty not swanky

by luckystarz081270 at Citysearch

Went here for my hubby’s birthday. Food was great, the eggplant and ricotta brushetta was to die for! We asked for a sausage sampler which had rabbit, lamb and chicken which was delightful. The scene was nice but not stuffy and the pricing was in line with what it should be. I will certainly be back!

Salty food, spazzy service

by bankerchik at Citysearch

Went to Irving Mill for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded but it still took forever to bring us bread, our food took a long time to come out and I had to ask 3 times for ketchup. The food itself is nothing special; everything was over salted and my eggs were cold. They dont serve home fries at brunch either, which I found odd. Most disappointing was what they call "goetta" on the menu. This is a type of breakfast meat served in the Cincinnati area, and I was very excited to try it at this restaurant because I have never seen it offered outside of the Midwest. I put it in quotations because whatever Irving Mill served was not goetta - the flavors were totally off, it looked like a squished meatball and, like all the other food we had, was completely over salted. The prices were too high for the quality and quantity of food as well. I would not recommend this place and will not be back.

A deep Cabernet Sauvignon (from Finnegan's Lake in California) is a fine $10 glass that goes well with just about everything. Servers are very good about letting customers taste before committing to a full glass.
