In Short – In their tribute to seasonal Greenmarket cooking, the owners have created a gigantic, tendentiously rustic temple to the genre, carefully decorated with stressed woods and oversized wagon wheels, to say nothing of the vast and ancient millstone that dominates the bar area. But the real draw here is the cooking of wunderkind chef Ryan Skeen, whose meaty menu is simultaneously refined, edgy, and rustic--in a quintessentially New York way. Skeen's flap meat and fatback burger is justly celebrated, but it's the charcuterie platter that is Skeen's masterstroke: a hot and cold…

Tasty not swanky

by luckystarz081270

Went here for my hubby’s birthday. Food was great, the eggplant and ricotta brushetta was to die for! We asked for a sausage sampler which had rabbit, lamb and chicken which was delightful. The scene was nice but not stuffy and the pricing was in line with what it should be. I will certainly be back!

Salty food, spazzy service

by bankerchik

Went to Irving Mill for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded but it still took forever to bring us bread, our food took a long time to come out and I had to ask 3 times for ketchup. The food itself is nothing special; everything was over salted and my eggs were cold. They dont serve home fries at brunch either, which I found odd. Most disappointing was what they call "goetta" on the menu. This is a type of breakfast meat served in the Cincinnati area, and I was very excited to try it at this restaurant because I have never seen it offered outside of the Midwest. I put it in quotations because whatever Irving Mill served was not goetta - the flavors were totally off, it looked like a squished meatball and, like all the other food we had, was completely over salted. The prices were too high for the quality and quantity of food as well. I would not recommend this place and will not be back.

Maybe the best burger in the city

by smoothdude

The burger is the one item that needs to be ordered if you're going to Irving Mill, one of the most delicate, loosely formed patties I've had.. with a perfect balance of fat and meat. It was seriously delicious.
