Editorial Review for Label Lounge – by Justine Goodman
In Short
"Empanadas, Eat Late" reads the glowing pink neon sign in the window of this cozy Rivington Street bar. Although the door policy is seemingly democratic (first come, first serve), the door itself requires buzzed entry via the bouncer's portable handheld buzzer. Inside, a narrow, corridor-like space may be difficult to navigate--follow your own reflection in the mirror (which runs the entire length of the bar's right side) toward the DJ booth in back, where the crowd tends to thin out.
Hits: The bar's mostly 25-to-35-year-old patrons are decidedly hip without being hipsters, making Label a stylish retreat from an often homogenous Lower East Side scene.
Misses: Having one bartender at 12am on a Saturday night is never good, but having one slow bartender is even worse--expect to wait for drinks if it's crowded.

I had a horrible experience at this lounge. What a waste of time. Waited forever for drinks and the overall feel was very stuffy. Not worth the trip at all!!!
Pros: none

Welll behaved, appropriately dressed older gentleman arrived Saturday Night at 10:25 and was politely turned away. In the next few minutes several couples were admitted. Not nice-does not make for a people behaving better-no doubt it will close in a year
