Drop-in for a good meal. I came here while on vacation and it was easy to drop-in and just eat. I had the seitan here, and it was the first time I really enjoyed it. The ingredients were simple and prepared well, but the flavors were not very new. It is very good food. But the ingredients and atmosphere really don't justify the pricing.

The reviewer below is totally wrong. I love people like the one below who acts like their a New York Times food critic. I ate at Cafe Blossom last night with a few Vegan friends who were in town from San Francisco and the food, atmosphere, service was great. And I'm not even a vegan! The meals appeared to be creative, the server was honest with what he thought of each dish and they let us stay past closing to finish our bottle of wine. I'm on this site all the time and I just wanted to chime in b/c I would hate for somebody to pass on this place due to the review below. All I know is that my friends loved it and if you're a vegan you probably would too.

Nothing Special. Perky staff and organic wine offerings doesn't a restaurant make...The seating is all the way in the back, which is a big mistake because when one walks by they see a seemingly empty place (the adage is "No One Wants To Eat At An Empty Restaurant"). Here's a hint to the hosts: Seat people near the front and work your way down. The menu...too much seitan. If you're a non-vegetarian, you're not going to understand what seitan is. There are plenty of organic fake-meat dishes like "pork chops" and "chick'n" at other restaurants in the city, but Blossom's limited entree menu makes this reviewer think that perhaps this place is better suited for lunches since they seemed to offer very interesting sandwiches.

As for my meal: my pasta had a slice of bell pepper that still had the grocery sticker on it and the appetizer took over 25 minutes to come out.

This location has turned-over owners and cuisine so much that Cafe Blossom is going have to work harder to keep the bankruptcy lawyers away.

Fresh, healthy and wonderful.. This place is very new, but I am so glad it's here. I have been to the Chelsea location and loved it. This one has more of a cafe feel. It is wonderful for a vegan because there is plenty or variety from very healthy salads and sandwiches, to old comforts like vegan BLT.

I brought my dad, a meatlover, the other night. We started with a great Tuscan style pizza appetizer along with these yummy oyster mushrooms that were consumed in minutes. I, of course, took over the ordering for the night. I had a red lentil roulade wrapped in a phylo shell, and my dad had a great seitan filet that I had to try. That, with a heavenly piece of chocolate cake for desert, left us very satisfied. It also left us full, but that very satisfied feeling of fullness. Not that heavy, sleepy full.

There wasn't much to dislike about this place besides the obvious newness of it. The wait staff was clearly still learning the menu, but my server was knowledgable enough to answer questions about seitan and sea vegetables.

You can tell that it's a very sincere establishment that just wants to serve good, organic food free from all animal products.
