In Short – Dubbed an "enoteca e salumeria," this Italian-style wine bar has the rustic look down pat. You'll feel like you stepped into the Italian countryside thanks to a blackboard listing the day's special wines, wooden shelves stocked with Italian vino and bowls of fruit, a bar dotted with small baskets of walnuts, and hams and prosciutto de parma on display. But it's the cute and trendy West Villagers (and the $12 glasses of wine) that will remind you where you are. – – Hits: Knowledgeable staff members are on hand to give out tastes and help you find the perfect…

go elsewhere

Although gottino's wine list is laughable, the bartenders exude a stuck-up, holier-than-thou attitude about their meager offerings. Couple this with uncomfortable seating, a narrow space, a faux-rustic feel, and a clientele that makes you wish you brought a pillow, gottino is best avoided.
- Pros: conveniently located near other, better places
- Cons: bartenders

had an absolute wonderful experience, friendly service with great explanations, small, but not too small, plates, not cheap, but entirely reasonable for the city. chairs a bit uncomfortable, but thats about the only downside I found. Have been back two days later...
- Pros: service, crostinis, rabbit pie
- Cons: too small
Jody Does it again!

Everyone knows Jody is the finest chef in the west village and after giving Gusto and Morandi breath she has done herself proud with this superb eatery. Offering something different and extraordinary. Try many small plates of heaven. Jody's artichokes make me coming back for more and more and more...
- Pros: Jody, artichokes,
- Cons: can't go there every night.
