Editorial Review for Fox & Fawn – by Joanna Prisco
In Short
Indie rock and hip vintage duds have always gone hand in hand; California transplants Marisa Johnson and Djuna Bel have simply put both in one place. With a secondhand selection ranging from 1970s Ferragamo pumps to Karl Lagerfeld T-shirts to full-length prairie dresses, this minikin vintage mecca moonlights as a performance space. Once a month the owners host an art opening and the store frequently holds invite-only shows featuring brief musical sets, ranging from acoustic indie rock to metal, and complimentary food and beverages.
Hits: The jewelry case-cum-counter is cluttered with everything from couture sunglass frames to 1980 Cabbage Patch Kid hair bands.
Misses: Be prepared to eyeball your size, as the changing area is often too overloaded with stock to be used.
