Soothing look and Best Japanese food i have had. This place was very nice. It had a very nice look to it and the music was soothing. The food was amazing!!! I had many choices and the ones i had chosen were the best. If you like Japanese food seriously go here and tell your friends about it.
My #1 choice for JAPANESE FOOD.
This is an excellent choice for those seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience without spending their entire weeks paycheck. I've been a patron of this restaurant (Queens location) for many years now and consistency is what I would characterize the service, cuisine, and overall atmosphere at Sato. I've tried this new Manhattan location two times to date and I must say that the owners have done an superb job in translating their vision, into an upper east side setting without sacrifice of the quality of customer service, food preparation/ presentation, and most importantly the taste and overall dining experience.
I got to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of sushi or raw fish, but their menu is extensive enough with a wide variety of cooked and raw dishes to satisfy any pallet. Thank you Mr. Sato for doing what you do!
You have it all in one place. Like I tell friends and family, this place is very good in all respects. I been to their location is Queens and have to say that they did an excellent job as well in their Manhattan restaurant. As I keep saying, the food is excellent (fresh sashimi and great price). The environment (decor) is very comfortable with a location that has parking on 2nd and 3rd avenues. Clearly a great choice for Japanese food lovers. I recommend everything on the menu, but I am a big fan of the yacht, dynamite, oyster and scallops (raw). Service is excellent with a polite and courteous staff. I am a big fan of eating out and Satos is at the top of the list.
One of the best sushi places in town. I took a friend from out of town to SATO last night and we were so pleased by the QUALITY of the food and service. Price is very reasonable and everything we ordered was scrumptious. You have to try the roll deluxe! (california, dragon and spicy tuna) You are probably saying to yourself... how good can rolls be, they all taste the same everywhere!... but trust me... there is something about this restaurant that makes it exceptionally good! the dynamite and tuna in the martini glass is also a must try. The seafood udon in garlic sauce is impeccable. You def. want to visit this restaurant.
Excellent Food & Service. While the city is filled with many Japanese restaurant, there are only a handful of quality ones. Fortunately, Sato joined the cast of the quality few. The food is exceptionally fresh and the menu is creative without losing the authenticity of the eastern flavor. I have been the queens resturant many years ago but since I don't live in queens, it was difficult to frequent. The quality of food and service is similar but this new location is slightly more fashionable, hipper and more romantic and ideal for couples. I highly recommend Sato to everyone!
Best Sushi!. I went to Sato for the first time the other week with a friend and everything was amazing - from the food, to the service and especially Sato, the owner. It such a warm atmosphere and the menu is great! When the bill came we were shocked at how inexpensive it was - we truly wanted to pay more for impeccable quality food, staff knowledge and such attentive service. (I've already been back and ordered in!)
fantastic and a great value. I went here with some friends who live in the area and I can say I'm definitely jealous that I don't live in the neighborhood. We tried a few different appetizers and rolls and really, everything was great. The service was extremely friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. I kind of expected it to be more expensive considering everything but thankfully its very well priced.
