Editorial Review for Iguazu Day Spa – by Sandra Ramani
In Short
Iguazu pays tribute to the famous Brazilian-Argentinean waterfalls of the same name with a menu of South American-inspired treatments. Massages like the Tiki Swedish and South American Beat mix it up with unique techniques and rhythmic music, while the blissful--and results-oriented--75-minute Pachamama is a customized rub-down using five different modalities. Facials target a variety of skin concerns with Naturopathica products; spa mani/pedis are sweetly scented with lavender or eucalyptus paraffin; and body scrubs feature ingredients like bamboo, lemongrass, coconut and brown sugar. A two-chair hair salon (by appointment only) and small sauna round out the intimate facilities.
Hits: Boasting beautiful Brazilian walnut floors, an ocean-blue decor and funky jellyfish-ish light fixtures, the low-key spa works for both women and men.
Misses: Though treatments yield results, prices are a little high for the area and amenity-level.

I visited this spa last weekend ( i only live a couple of blocks away) and i was just giving it a try since i didnt previously hear about it. Being a regular spa goer and knowing what a great massage is , i must say that I was completely blown away by the quality of the massage i received at Iguazu spa . Not only the therapist had an amazing energy but his technique was absolutely flawless. The massages strokes were perfectly orchestrated and uninterrupted which made the massage amazing. the place also had a real spa feel which added to my experience. I have gone to numerous places in the city and i must tell you to receive a massage this great i would definitely travel. Luckily for me this place is around the corner from where I leave. I would definitely recommend any massage addicts to try it.
Pros: best massage technique

I thought it was a nice experience. It was a slow day, being a summer Saturday, so I received extra service and perks that I may not have otherwise gotten on a regualr day. I wish they had a nice locker room facility, though. They only have a bathroom for one upstairs, with sauna and steam shower in it. Also, the pedicure station has really uncomfortable benches. Not really supportive of a luxurious spa environment. All in all, I thought my spa specialist and the receptionish/manager worked hard to make it a relaxing time.
