In Short – Amid the proliferation of European-style wine and tapas bars across Manhattan, it was only a matter of time before the craze made its way to the Upper West Side. Enter Buceo 95: a small, upscale bar with more than 40 international wines served by the quartino, bottle or glass. Guests can sample wine by the bar, or pair their drinks with food at one of about a dozen marble-topped tables. Although there's a focus on old-world wines, Buceo also boasts a fully stocked bar; bartenders serve up classic cocktails like the Sidecar, Negroni and Pisco Sour. – – Hits: A…

I've been to Buceo 4 or 5 times, and I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is cozy, and has a family feel to it, as does the service. The lamp chop is delicious, sangria is very good.
I've usually come here with groups of several people and we've always had a festive time with great food.

Great place

My friend and I were meeting up for drinks and she favors wine, so I looked up wine bars and came across this one as part of a top 10. We met there at about 6 pm on a Thursday. The place had plenty of room but filled up as the night went on. The wine was great and so was the cheese. We sat there for about 4 hours and the service was impeccable. I definitely recommend it. Great for a date, drinks with friends, whatever.
- Pros: Great service, food and atmosphere

Hidden Gem (or tapa)

My sister and her boyfriend were in town and we happened to stumble on this place on citysearch. The food was great, the service was equally impressive. The owner happened to be there while we were eating and he walked around greeting the customers, making sure everything was perfect. Our waiter was wonderful, but actually forgot my sister's drink. However, when we reminded him about it, he went behind the bar, made it himself, and didn't charge us. They have an extensive wine list as well, which I took advantage of. The wines were unique and delicious. Try the paella and churrasco. Amazing dining experience and great food to top!
