SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND

I was searching for a neighborhood salon in Tribeca and I truly found the Lotus Salon on North Moore Street where I can sit down and have my hair done with complete confidence with someone who took plenty of the time with a real consultation and that is where I met Sandy. We first spoke about my color Sandy showed me several options and recommended never to have just one color she always adds a few highlights to give color more dimension and give color a more natural appearance and reflect more light , Sandy was "RIGHT" my hair color is beautiful...Then we spoke about my hair texture and the cut that will suite my hair texture and lifestyle, Sandy found what I was looking for.... easy and carefree........I am so HAPPY and I really look beautiful..... Sandy is busy so you must book ahead, she has been in the business for over 30 years and had her own salon with many of her own clients........Give Sandy a try and I'm sure you will love the results and love her too... Michele is a true artist!

Seriously, she is. She's actually a painter. Which means she has a natural sense of color, composition, and aesthetic appeal. She knows what looks good and how to make it happen.

I met her several years ago when she was working at another salon in Brooklyn. I was so happy with her work that when she changed salons, so did I. Never mind that I now have to take two subway trains into Manhattan instead of walking a few blocks from my apartment - Michele is worth the trip.

Here's one reason why: I'd been tossing around the idea of becoming a redhead for years, but never had the nerve. After several beautiful highlights/haircuts from Michele, I decided to go for it. She didn't let me down - I've been a redhead ever since. It's so much fun, and it looks so natural I even fooled my dermatologist, a natural redhead herself.

It's not just the color. Michele does a great job on haircuts too. She strikes the perfect balance of listening to what I want while using her expertise to guide me toward what truly looks flattering and hip on my head.

I wouldn't trust anybody else with my hair. In fact, I may be moving out of town this fall, and I've already decided to schedule return visits to New York around getting my hair done at Lotus!

About the salon itself - Michele works at the salon/gallery branch of Lotus on North Moore on Saturdays. (She's at the smaller but equally pleasant Reade Street location on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.) The North Moore location is a large bright space that has rotating exhibitions of artists' work, so you always have something interesting to look at.

Awesome highlights and style by Christina

I was in nyc for business and stumbled upon Lotus as I was playing tourist in Tribecca, so I decided to take a chance on a new look. Christina had great recommendations for updating my 'do that worked with my difficult fine hair. I've had layered cuts in the past, but after getting my hair cut here I came to realize what I'd been missing by not shopping around. Christina took her time rather than rushed through the job, and the result was a cut that felt customized to my hair and face, and not some careless cookie-cutter job. And for the first time I got highlights and love, love, love them! Not at all the cheesy, streaking mess I feared, these highlights work naturally with my true hair color and add a subtle light-catching effect. An awesome experience. Even though I don't live in NYC, I'll be back!
