In Short – Northern Italian cuisine and attentive service encourage well-tailored diners to put down their leather binders, set aside their reading glasses, and order another glass of the house red. As at its fancier siblings Remi and Bice, here Italian specialties, including individual pizzas and homemade pastas like chitarra and cavatelli, shine. But, in a nod to Italy's Mediterranean neighbor, there's also a paella alla Valenciana on the menu. Options for carb-counters range from several types of salads to osso busco and burgers (fries are extra, though).
From start to finish, this place is amazing!

I promised the owners I would write a review ending last year, but with a baby, things get complicated... however I never forgot and now I´m doing it.
This was a wonderful gastronomic experience for both my husband and myself on our second honeymoon.
We were impressed with everything in this place, the friendly service, personal attendance by owners, marvelous food, even the bathrooms smelled nice (something not often found).
Sometimes you go out and the place is nice but something is off, the service is not quite good, or just something was not quite ok to make it perfect... I´ll say, having traveled abroad quite often, and having a lot of places to compare... Bistro Milano was a delightful find, from coat check, to the final check, every single detail was well observed and we had a wonderful time.
The ossobucco with risotto my husband had, is still lingering in his mind, it was that good. Spectacular wine; wonderfully attentive, helpful and knowing waiter. My veal scalop was to die for. Truly a great place to have beautiful memories made. We are from Mexico, when back in NY, will definitely visit this place again. many thanks for a lovely memorable time. Perfect altogether !!

All around excellent

First off, this site shows the restaurant as being on 6th Ave. Maybe that was a FORMER location? As of March 2009, they are located on 55th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues....
I ate here for my first time, and everything was excellent. We started with an appetizer of proscuitto with melon and a balsamic vinegar sauce. The appetizer was certainly sufficient for two to share, but a bit pricey IMHO at $18.
I got the ravioli stuffed with veal in a mushroom and truffle sauce. It was scrumptious.
My friend got the penne in a cream sauce with salmon. Also very good.
For dessert we got the warm chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato. As a dessert connoisseur I can say both the chocolate and gelato were of excellend quality.
I'd definitely go back here.
- Pros: food quality
- Cons: some dishes a bit pricey
it"s one of the few restaurants that I love
by fflockk
I've loved everything I've eaten here. It's one of the few restaurants that I love that I feel it is a little too expensive for what you get. But then again, that's my problem not that theirs.
- Pros: food,service,everything
