Many people know Adam Lippes for his line of luxurious basics, an assortment of men's and women's T-shirts and underwear made from silky soft Peruvian pima cotton. Now, in his spacious flagship store, he has room to show off trendsetting pieces like a violet dip-dyed ombre dress and a striped flounce sleeve top, all possessing a breezy and casual air that still feels refined. The space itself has a penchant for light-hearted luxury: A sign asks "What Would Oprah Say?" only feet away from a sizeable canvas from artist Joshua Abelow.
Hits: Even the store's dressing rooms--large carpeted spaces with sliding doors and designer benches--are examples of upscale comfort.
Misses: Be warned that high-quality basics like T-shirts and tank tops come with high-end price tags.
