In Short – Though she's serving ribs of all kinds, from tuna on the bone to spareribs stuffed with lemongrass, peanut and Thai basil, there's nothing sloppy about Anita Lo's (Annisa) take on barbecue. The ivory-accented space--featuring a white marble bar, sunny atrium and garden--plays up the woman's touch, while a raw bar and sashimi dishes cater to more delicate appetites. Some of the sauciest items, like warm sesame mochi with caramel dipping sauce, are on the dessert menu.
Good For Special Occasions

Birthdays, engagements, Tuesdays, all good reasons to drop some cash at Bar Q.
The service is amazing.Perhaps the only thing they could do to further pamper you would be to chew your food for you. But you wouldn't want that, They are super knowledgeable, as they should be. They will guide you through your ordering if you desire, or leave you to your own designs, if you desire. My advice? Take their advise! As a super knowledgeable server myself, sometimes you need to sit back and let the professionals take charge.
When you have one of those special occasions, don't look at the price tag, just roll baby, just roll.
- Pros: food,friendly service
Skip Annisa and head here.

Had friends in from out of town and had a great meal here. The night before they insisted on going to Annisa where the service was horrible and the waitstaff beyond rude. Just the opposite here with better prices and inventive dishes. More casual and relaxed, the food was as good (if not better?) and the staff so wonderful. Would go back anytime (and we went on a busy night and were seated promptly).
- Pros: Good food and service
- Cons: nothing really
Wonderful all-around
by restaurantette
The service could not have been better. They were accommodating, knowledgeable, and nice as could be, which is unusual for a New York restaurant these days. I highly recommend the spiked green bubble tea. It's really an amazing cocktail. The wine list is great as well. The oysters come with 4 dipping sauces, though not all seem "oyster appropriate." The tartare trio in avocado soup was nearly perfect. It was flavorful, though subtle. All of the ingredients were so well-balanced. I was not as impressed with the tuna ribs. They were a little spicy for me, and I thought the dipping sauce was a little much. The short rib was great, with just the right combination of Western barbeque and Korean influence. For dessert, the mochi with dipping sauce is one of the best desserts I've had. It was simple and delicious, the perfect way to end the meal. I will most certainly be going back soon!
