Best Chinese in NY. Pig Heaven is definitely a must go in New York. Even if you don't live in the Upper East Side it's worth the trip. The food is delicious and authentic, none of the boring and played out bland chicken and broccoli, fortune cookies and oranges. I recommend the Spare Ribs of course and their Ying Yang (diced chicken and pork soong) for appetizers and their traditional Three Glass Chicken and Citrus Shrimp for the main entrees. The staff is friendly and attentive...Nancy, the owner, is genuine and charming. She recognized us the second time we went! There's actually a live band Friday and Saturday nights...if you like GREAT food and good music you'll love Pig Heaven. It's our new Sunday night dinner place!

Good Taiwanese Restaurant. I really want to give this place a 4 Star since it is a Taiwanese restaurant and the owner, Nancy is very very nice and gorgeous! But I am trying to stay objective here so that is why 3 star is what they are getting.

Pig Heaven is one of the few high-end Taiwanese restaurant in Manhattan. The decor is kind of funny and cute; there are tons of piggie banks and pig heads around the restaurant.

I came here for a dinner party of 80 and I am not sure if this is the right place for this large number of people. They dishes come a little too small and sometimes lukewarm.

The food itself is pretty average. I think the best dishes of all are their BBQ ribs and pineapple walnut shrimp (without the pineapple or walnut). Everything else is pretty forgettable.

I will come back to try it again for a regular non-banquet style meal but definitely not going to make my way out there.

OK Ribs & High Quality at a Price. I saw NPH reviewed on the Travel Channel program BBQ Paradise. Made a special trip to try, and Hey! Fergetaboutit!!! - Ribs were high quality & very tasty - chinese style, a little sweet, little to no char or crunch and no heat. But $8 for 6 medium sized pork ribs (or $12 for 8 ribs) ??? The value problem continued ...... tried a very tasty & tender salt & pepper squid from the "specials" menu - $9 for a very undersized portion (maybe $1.50 worth at RETAIL) dressed with a little sad iceburg lettuce and some cilantro crumbs...... small fried dumplings were likewise very good, seemingly made in-house and a bargain at $6 for 6.

So if you live in the nabe and have the bucks, go for it ..... overpriced, but this IS the UES... on the flip side, this is E82 & 2nd Ave., not really high roller territory.... we walked from the Met museum to check it out..... next time we will head straight downtown.....There are better ribs in NYC and far better values in quality Chinese food.

Heavenly butt!. The best butt I've eaten anywhere! Seriously, the food here is way above average - fun concepts, no grease, and plenty of fresh vegetables in nicely-flavored stir-fry dishes. The roast pork butt will appeal to meat lovers. The service was great, everything was reasonably-priced, and we had plenty of time to sit and enjoy our meal with no pressure whatsoever to vacate our table. I'm already plotting my next visit.

best chinese food at upper east side. Went there on last Tuesday and the service was very good. Everyone was extremely nice, and the food did not take long to arrive at our table. I had a good time, and was able to carry a conversation without them trying to rush you out of the restaurant. The taste and quality of the food were good as well. The food doesnt have excesses amounts of oil. If you want good chinese food where the quality and service of the food are great then go to Pig Heaven

Loyal Customers Are Valued. I take dinner out from Nancy's Pig Heaven at least once a week, and often take lunch out on Saturday afternoons. Typically, I order the roast pork butt, dry sauteed string brings, table salad, won ton soup and brown rice. The quality of the pork butt has varied. On some nights, it has been moist and flavorful. On others, it's been dry and almost tasteless. Over the past two weeks, I've replaced the pork with roast chicken. This dish is a winner. The skin is crispy, and the meat is moist and accented with tasty herbs. I love the string beans' grilled, garlicky flavor. Nancy and her staff consistently greet me with bright smiles and enthusiastic "Hello!"s. They recognize the value of loyal customers, and have made me feel that I'm part of their family.

Awesome service with great food. I went to Pig Heaven somewhat reluctantly given that I'm not a big Chinese food fan however I left loving the restaurant and wanting more. It was very busy when we entered the restaurant so we had a drink at the bar and were given a 10 minute wait time. After 10 minutes the owner, who checks on every table constantly, asked two people who were just having drinks at their table to kindly move to the bar so that we could sit for dinner. The food was excellent and the service was equally impressive. The owner is the friendliest in New York and the live music at the end of the night was an added bonus. I would highly recommend this restaurant based on service alone.

The best Chinese food ever!. I no longer live on the Upper East Side and I really miss this place. The atmosphere is wonderful to eat in, get an outside table if possible, the service is great, and they have a full bar. Try the shrimp lettuce wraps, the kung pao chicken, and the grand marnier shrimp. Everything is delicious.
