“It's a great place to bring a lady.”
“The bartenders are inviting and are heavy handed with the booze.”
“No hassel, not expensive, clean, great music, hot bartenders.”
Great Open Bar Venue!.
Did a 3 hour open bar here several weeks ago for $40. Drinks are good + great music= AWESOME NIGHT
Thanks AccessGotham. com and Kings Cross for helping planning my night!
Dirty and Rude. Kings Cross has a lot of potential, but the place is just soo dirty. For a place that wasn't crowded, you'd think that they would be able to clean the bathroom. The music was good, but other than that, I just don't see the appeal. This bar just reminds me of every other basement bar in the East Village.
I always wanted to know the name of this place. I love this place. The bartenders are inviting and are heavy handed with the booze. The crowd is chill and sexxy. The music is awesome. It's a great place to bring a lady.
Down the stairs, past the dank, sconce-lit hallway lies a Scotch-soaked English tavern..
Bowery boozers not up for the high-priced antics at the swank upper level lounge, Antik, can amble down to King's Cross, a bourbon well with a straightforward, medieval sensibility. An amber glow radiates from a fireplace full of cast-iron wall sconces and mismatched candles that tend to melt haphazardly on the floor. Liquor---mostly brown---is housed in glass-doored, vintage-looking cabinets that complement both the red brick walls and the bar's overall mystique. Maybe the pleather banquettes aren't so Camelot, but they're comfy for conversation-seekers or anyone not idling at the imposing wood bar.
Hits: Bartender-provided music (mid-'90s rock, mostly) is spot-on with the ambience, and seems to keep the crowd---khaki-clad, well-to-do males in their late twenties, and the younger girls they tend to date---as happy as a bunch of knights at the chariot races.
Misses: Being "invited" to check out King's Cross by bouncers at choosy brethren bar Antik may feel like a burn.
Chillest new bar!!!. Kings Cross is the absolute chillest new bar in NYC. No hassel, not expensive, clean, great music, hot bartenders... They nailed it with this one!!! Its an 'upscale pub,' thats the only way to describe it. Went for a birthday party upstairs at Antik (which is also totally cool) and went downstairs to Kings Cross accidentally. Its super chill. Have already been back a few times.
