What People Are Saying About King's Cross
Featured Review

Bowery boozers not up for the high-priced antics at the swank upper level lounge, Antik, can amble down to King's Cross, a bourbon well with a straightforward, medieval sensibility. An amber glow radiates from a fireplace full of cast-iron wall sconces and mismatched candles that tend to melt haphazardly on the floor. Liquor---mostly brown---is housed in glass-doored, vintage-looking cabinets that complement both the red brick walls and the bar's overall mystique. Maybe the pleather banquettes aren't so Camelot, but they're comfy for conversation-seekers or anyone not idling at the imposing…
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- No PBR here. A mere six shillings--er dollars--fetches a draught Brooklyn Lager, Magic Hat, Stella or Guinness.
- Know Before You Go:
- The surround-sound system may be a little off. One side of the bar blasts deafening treble and far on the other it's bass-heavy. Hang in the middle for optimal listening (or minimal hearing loss).
- When to Go:
- On slower nights, last call may come on the early side--closer to 3am than 4am.
- The Extras:
- For a slightly swankier scene, try your luck at the door to Antik, the upper level lounge, where there's no bar to approach; instead, waitresses disappear behind red velvet curtains and return with your drink. Bottle service is not mandatory, but you'll find most people ordering bottles anyway.

Dirty and Rude
by Christie234 at Citysearch
Kings Cross has a lot of potential, but the place is just soo dirty. For a place that wasn't crowded, you'd think that they would be able to clean the bathroom. The music was good, but other than that, I just don't see the appeal. This bar just reminds me of every other basement bar in the East Village.
- Pros: The Nice Bartenders
- Cons: Rude Managers
I always wanted to know the name of this place

I love this place. The bartenders are inviting and are heavy handed with the booze. The crowd is chill and sexxy. The music is awesome. It's a great place to bring a lady.
- Pros: good drinks, good whiskey, good service, good time
- Cons: The bbar rejects
Chillest new bar!!!
by ssm171 at Citysearch
Kings Cross is the absolute chillest new bar in NYC. No hassel, not expensive, clean, great music, hot bartenders... They nailed it with this one!!! Its an 'upscale pub,' thats the only way to describe it. Went for a birthday party upstairs at Antik (which is also totally cool) and went downstairs to Kings Cross accidentally. Its super chill. Have already been back a few times.
- Pros: Inexpensive Drinks!!!, Atmosphere, Decor, Service
- Cons: Crowded
