  1. If I were you, I would order one or two pies and refrigerate for an entire week for multiple nights of "Holy F@^#$%, this is good friggin pie!
  2. It is a flavor adventure which is possibly the best slice of pie I have had to date (and I do consider myself to be a NYC pizza connoisseur).
  3. Neapolitan slices are only $2.50, and are generally much larger than the slices offered at other pizza places; order a Neapolitan pie and only $15 will net you a pizza so large that it looks like it's about to pop off the sides of the box.

  1. The margherita is excellent & tasty too, not the best in the world that I?
  2. The only redeeming quality of the pizza was that the sauce was very good, unfortunately all the elements weren't good enough to give it an average rating.
  3. The ingredients are still fresh, but I've seen (and tasted) some adjustments to save on food cost.
  4. Aside from that, these guys are really great people and they really and truly know how to make an amazing slice of pizza.
  5. must admit the Artichoke pizza is delicious.
  6. Each slice is perfectly unique, the sauce, the cheese, the crust!
  7. never tasted anything like there artchoke pizza you must try this great pizza
  8. its good pizza, but some negatives bring it down to average, and not worth the wait

  10. Mangia the best pizza by the slice in NYC!
  11. One tip: For the time you spend waiting in line, you might as well go to PIOLA which is 10 times better, you sit down, enjoy your pizza, and still be done before you even start eating at Arthichoke on the sidewalk.
  12. The crust is homemade perfection, the sauce stellar and the ingredients fresh and delicious.
  13. Help them help us eat the most delicious pizza often.
  14. The margarita slice is also very good, it tastes like a thin crust pizza but is much thicker.
  15. The generously-sized slices here are absolutely delicious.
  16. Signature slice was too rich and the crust was more like sour dough bread than pizza.
  17. The ingredients are fresh but they adhere to the Sbarro school of way too much dough.
  18. The staff is friendly and two of the three pizza choices are vegetarian friendly.
  19. best pizza in nyc
  20. Here's how to make a tasty pizza: Take an entire stick of butter and a half a pound of cheese.
  21. My boyfriend hates artichokes but loves this pizza.
  22. do your self a favor if you love pizza.
  23. They are new on the scene, and still perfecting this near perfect pizza.
  24. But seriously, it all has to do with the fact that their pizza really is THAT good.
  25. ... it only means they have a big turn over and your food will be that much better because it just came out of the oven!
  26. veggie friendly pizza place
  27. We ordered 2 of the famous artichoke and spinach pizza slices that were creamy and delicious, 3 regular slices which were cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of cheese and sauce and a stuffed artichoke!
  28. Occasionally, they'll offer cauliflower fritters (excellent) or fresh bread to those waiting in line.
  29. The pizza is huge so you can split it with someone you love.
  30. have to say that the artichoke, although it doesnt taste like pizza, is quite delicious.
  31. It is a flavor adventure which is possibly the best slice of pie I have had to date (and I do consider myself to be a NYC pizza connoisseur).
  32. had a delicious slice of Sicilian with fresh basil and parmesan that was slightly burnt but oh so yummy.
  33. To summarize: Decent pizza in large quantities for cheap- if you don't mind the line.
  34. My suggestion would be to go to Vinny Vincenz on first ave and pay the extra buck for the fresh mozzarella slice.

  4. This place is a godsent considering the overpriced horrid new fancy BS that keeps opening to acclaim around gentrified NYC.
  5. Nor can the help but to notice the huge lines that are sometimes over half a block long.
  6. To summarize: Decent pizza in large quantities for cheap- if you don't mind the line.
  7. So when you are pissy drunk and hungry, one huge slice of Artichoke will help you recover from hangover faster!

Such good pizza!

by nycpizzalover at Citysearch

The Artichoke pizza is one of my favorites! The crab one comes in at a close second and even the margherita is good! I like this location but I like the one in Chelsea even better because there is room to sit down! The lines get a little crazy but the pizza is definitely worth it! The pizza always tastes fresh and is definitely filling! One of the best places to get pizza in NYC!

Best Slice You Will Ever Have

by hitchiker at Citysearch

I visit the city a lot with work as well as with friends. I just experienced the best Slice i think i have ever had! I eat a lot of pizza, and by far this is the best!!! It is good after a great time in the city and want a snake, or the night cravings after a club or bar! There is always a wait. But worth the 10 min in line, of fresh Artichoke Pizza!!!!!

Regards and Enjoy,

Nick

Not what it use to be

by Dann M at Citysearch

I loved my first slice here. My 2nd slice was pretty good too and that's when I tried the crab slice (1st day they had it!!) and it was awesome. After the first couple of times, it's gone downhill. I went back and it was just bad. they have nothing on their crab slice now and I know some people like a char (I do too on some stuff), but their artichoke slice just tastes like burnt. The really bad thing is they didn't even leave it in too long because it wasn't that hot. Maybe they need a new oven, or maybe they need to clean it after 50 years. I don't know.

Irresistable pizza in Manhattan

by Athena Chang , Citysearch Contributor at Citysearch

Artichoke, literally will get your artery chocked if you consume too much. However, their pizza is like drugs you cannot quit. Unlike other pizzeria, they use cheese cubes on their pizzas!

You could smell their pizza from far away. One slice of Artichoke and Spinach is enough to fill you up. I would also recommend trying out their Crab Meat and Margarita slices.

What makes this place even better is they open till 4AM! So when you are pissy drunk and hungry, one huge slice of Artichoke will help you recover from hangover faster!

  • Pros: Super size toppings, crispy crust
  • Cons: NONE
