A passion for olive oil drives the menu at this Mediterranean restaurant's Midtown outpost.

Tasty Albeit Trendy

Close proximity to our hotel prompted us to try this spot. We enjoyed the prix fixe menu - a very nice selection for appetizer, entree and dessert. The chocolate dessert alone was worth it.
For our part, we would enjoy a lot less 'atmosphere'; we were seated downstairs in a mid-aisle table which made us feel a little like the aisle row on an airplane with constant traffic back and forth. Service was good if a little overly-brisk at times. What was least enjoyable was the decibel level - everything was cranked up so of course you couldn't converse without making an effort to be heard over the din. But it appears that part of its appeal to many of the diners was that it was a place to see and be seen, and so not surprising. We're fairly laid-back as patrons and no longer care who we see or who sees us!
- Pros: Delicious food
- Cons: LOUD

Just got out of dinner at Fig and Olive in Midtown.
I went there because of all the reviews on city search, and I wasn't dissapointed at all.
The Jamon and Manchgo Cheese Salad was great and the Spanish nuts in the salad made it even better.
Server was very attentive, and food came out quickly. The truffle soup was a little too oily, but the manager immediately brought me another one which was outstanding and delishious. For dessert we had the pots de creme. The server explained three different chocolates that make up this delectable item....Yum!!
Only drawback was the weather outside.....blah...
Def recommend this place for a casual dinner.
- Pros: Service, Attitude, managment professionalism, food
- Cons: long steps upstairs, single stall mens room,
