DEATH TO A NIGHTCLUB- HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTING

I WENT TO OPERA LAST WEEKEND BECAUSE IT WAS MY FRIENDS 25TH BIRTHDAY AND I WAS ON HIS GUEST LIST AND I ENDED UP PAYING. SERIOUSLY, WHAT KIND OF PROMOTING IS THIS? I THOUGHT GUEST LISTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE CELEBRATING WHATEVER KIND OF EVENT AND THEIR PARTY WOULD BE ADMITTED FREE OF CHARGE. ALSO, THE PURPOSE OF THE GUESTLIST WAS TO AVOID LINES, HOWEVER, I WAITED ON LINE FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. IT WAS TERRIBLE. IF THE CLUB IS NOT GOING TO ADHERE TO THEIR POLICY REGARDING THE GUESTLIST, WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF HAVING IT? THE BOTTLE SERVICE WAS HORRENDOUS. MY PARTY PURCHASED OVER 5 DIFFERENT BOTTLES BUT EACH TIME WE NEEDED A NEW BOTTLE, WE HAD TO GO TO THE BAR TO PURCHASE BECAUSE THE WAITRESSES WERE NEVER IN SIGHT. THEN WHEN THE WAITRESSES WERE ADVISED ON THE PURCHASE THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO EXTEND ATTITUDES. LESSON #1, IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL CLUB HAVE WAITRESSES THAT ENJOY SERVING OTHERS OR AT LEAST WHO ENJOY THEIR JOB.. BECAUSE SUCKY SERVICE WILL END UP WITH YOU HAVING NO ONE TO SERVE! ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAD WAS THAT THE DRINKS WERE SEVERELY OVERPRICED. IF I'M PAYING 15 DOLLARS FOR A MIXED DRINK, THEN I EXPECT TO TASTE SOME OF THE ALCOHOL! INSTEAD, I TASTED JUICE BECAUSE THE DRINKS WERE SO WATERED DOWN, I HAD A HARD TIME SWALLOWING IT! EITHER IT WAS SO WATERED DOWN OR THEY SERVED THE BOTTOM OF THE LINE ALCOHOL. MY DOLLAR WAS SORELY WASTED ON THOSE DRINKS. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE PLACE STUNK. THE ODOR WAS SO OBNOXIOUS AT TIMES I COULD BARELY BREATHE. IF I WANTED TO SMELL SOMETHING NASTY I WOULD HAVE STUCK MY HEAD INTO A KITTY LITTER BOX!!! IT'S TIME TO INVEST IN A NEW VENTILATION SYSTEM AND ALSO STEAM CLEAN THE FURNITURE. WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, THAT WOULD BE HELL NO!!! THEY WOULD SORELY NEED TO OVERHAUL THEIR SERVICE BEFORE I DECIDE TO SET FOOT THROUGHT THEIR DOOR AGAIN.

• Cons: PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING ELSE.. SERVICE SUCKED

Opera is the worst club in NYC

I turned 25 over the weekend and figured i'd throw my party at Club Opera. Biggest mistake of my life. Out of all the clubs ive been to, this was by far the worst club i've been to. We went through 5 bottles and still they had a problem getting my friends into VIP, ended up having to pay a bouncer off for wristbands. The drinks at the bar were weak and overpriced. 9 dollars for a beer, 17 dollars for a patron shot smh. The door is real tight for no reason, wasnt like it was packed out and the girl to guy ratio is literally 10:1. If your looking for a disappointing night, the Opera is the place to be.

great club

I went to Opera the other night and had a great time. If you are looking for a nightclub atmosphere, it is a great place to go. Beautiful space, nice crowd, and great music. I just bought tickets to the New Years Eve party at Opera on www.NearCorner. com. It should be a great party.
