In Short
Hitch on spurs before sauntering inside this self-described "urban roadhouse," which is noticeably lacking in the sawdust-on-the-floor and girls-dancing-on-the-bar departments. Instead, you'll discover glossy tables and a long, L-shaped bar lit by plentiful flat-screen TVs displaying the day's athletic contests to the hooting appreciation of unwinding Wall Streeters and Phi Kappa-types. Most sip domestic beer, but brave drunkards opt for Miller High Life 40-ouncers served in brown paper bags, which the bartenders have thoughtfully crinkled around the bottleneck.
Hits: While your favorite game flashes across the flat-screen TVs, you'll chomp some of the finest bar food this side of Washington Square Park.
Misses: Novelty aside, do you really want to pay $12 for a 40-ounce of Miller High Life served in a brown paper bag? You're better off heading to a bodega and sitting on someone's stoop.

"I've lived on Bleecker Street for 30 years. That should give me street cred. I've also never been to this place before because it looks so B&T. But STOP that rush to judgement. It does have a lot of TVs, and more blondes than can reasonably be expected in downtown New York. And it's a bit loud. But the atmosphere is fun, and completely not intimidating. The waitresses, obviously not hired for their score on a Civil Service Exam, are friendly, efficient, and good humored... along with their other... er... obvious qualities. The food is not bad.The wings have some kick to them, and the appetizer sampler wasn't all that greasy. The tap beer selection isn't great, but you'll forgive it. Go on a rainy night so it won't be packed. You'll have a good time. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC Drinkers, this review by Mykel B"

I have been to TJ's several times and I love it. The Dirty Burgers are awesome. The staff is great. They are very attentive and friendly. Even when it got really crowded the staff was always there to wait on us and make sure we had everything we needed. I tell everyone I know about this place beacuse the food is great and the atmoshpere is fun and friendly. So far all of the feedback I got from friends I told to go there was good. So whether its afternoon or evening you should check it out.

Food Served:
Overdose on upscale, meaty bar snacks including porterhouse steaks sided with sweet potato fries, hoisin-glazed pork ribs and even buttery escargot.
Know Before You Go:
Use caution if visiting Thunder Jackson's on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, when the neighborhood turns into a veritable retreat for inebriated out-of-towners and college kids.
Fun Fact:
If you find yourself craving General Tso's chicken upon entering the bar, it could be because this corner spot once housed a branch of Chinese chain Wok 'N Roll.
