What People Are Saying About Panca

In Short – Executive chef Emmanuel Piqueras refined his novo-Andean cooking in the Pacific Northwest, emphasizing octopus, calamari and other seafood soaked in pepper, herbs, lime, and garlic and topped with green mango or aji sauce. His cebiches come in two sizes, tapas and appetizers, and in a vertical, brilliant array that matches the turquoise-and-white decor. Purists will appreciate classic entrées like arroz con pato (rice with duck) and lamb-shank stew, as well as the Latin American Top-40 playing on the stereo. – – –
Finally, awesome Peruvian Food in the US
by chrischio at Citysearch
I have been traveling to Peru for many years now. For the first time in the US, I tasted the magical flavors that I have only experienced inside Peru and its awesome culinary country. For so long, I have been looking for a place that offered this here in our country. Panca is my spot!! Keep doing what you are doing!! Everyone needs to try it!
For first timers I recommend the cebiche martini and the lomo saltado.
Nos vemos el sabado ;)

The Details on Panca
The Extras:
Peru's large Japanese population is reflected in Panca's tiradito mosaico, a mix of sashimi-like fish topped with creamy aji.
What to Drink:
Bottles of pisco, a South American grape brandy, line the walls---and dominate the specialty cocktails. Try the Cholopolitan: pisco, Cointreau, cranberry juice and lemon juice.
Know Before You Go:
Seventh Avenue might be full of taxis zipping south, but this West Village location practically guarantees that you'll see someone worth watching, perhaps one of the many celebrities who live nearby.
