“Great food, great wine”
“the food is fantastic, especially those "peruvian style" scallops with parmesan cheese and the corn!”
“think this is the best tapas/wine place I have been in the NYC/NJ area.”
“The set-up is great: open kitchen that makes it nice and casual and service is top notch.”
“from italian taleggio to the best peruvian ceviche, coupled with a great price/quality winelist.”
There isn’t any place better than City Vino to sit down and have some great wine in Jersey City. The staff is very friendly and the bartenders know how to recommend wine without it being the wrong kind – which is harder than it sounds. I’m used to paying high prices for food and drinks in Jersey but this place is different. They charge reasonable prices throughout their entire menu. It’s got a great ambience and I’m happy to head in here every time I’m on business.
excellent!.
I just started to write reviews on citysearch, but this place deserves to be mentioned ! Great wine selection !
Definitely will be back !
Certainly worth crossing the Hudson for. With so much choice in NYC why would you bother going to Jersey! Gotta say this place is a winner and well worth the short trip to Jersey City. I've done the rounds at all the good tapas restaurants in Manhattan and most of the dishes you find here you won't find anywhere else. Unique Latin American flavors you won't ever forget. Wine list is excellent (you'll understand when you walk into the restaurant)! Actualy I think just the wine list is worth going for. The set-up is great: open kitchen that makes it nice and casual and service is top notch. Big open area to peruse wines at your leisure and pick a bottle or 2 on your way out. Great touch
Great food, great wine.
If you want to have great food and great wine at a very reasonable price, come to City Vino. Spanish and Peruvian style dishes are my favorites. Try the Causa, a Peruvian signature dish, it is a must. The City Vino Corn reminds me of my old days in Lima. Also, the Chorizitos al Jerez are out if this world, while the Piquillos Rellenos are probably the best dish in the Menu, ole!!!. Regarding desserts, you will complete this Latin &Wine experience by ordering the Coconut Rice Pudding?I am hungry already and looking forward to come back.
The Wine list is sophisticated and yet very affordable. Ask for Miguel, who will know which is the wine to taste with the food you are having. On your way out, grab some bottles of wine, it will be difficult to find anywhere else such quality for the price you are paying at City Vino.
I think this is the best tapas/wine place I have been in the NYC/NJ area.
tapas with great value wine list. the food is fantastic, especially those "peruvian style" scallops with parmesan cheese and the corn! (can someone get me the recipe pls?) the hosts, a young couple , are usually around to guide you through the ecclectic tapas selection...from italian taleggio to the best peruvian ceviche, coupled with a great price/quality winelist.... you can't go wrong at City vino!
Lovely wine bar with fabulous tapas!. I usually don't write reviews but our experience at City Vino was such a delight. We were surprised to find such a warm, inviting wine bar in Jersey City. We had an amazing dinner with an assortment of delicious tapas, many that are latin inspired. Th ceviche and empanadas were fantastic and my favorite was the peruvian corn. The owner was very personable and knowledgeable about the wines. He made a great suggestion to accompany our tapas. We'll definitely be back soon.
Out of place!!!!. This restaurant should be in manhattan and everyone would now it. Best ceviche ever, the gambas are out of this world and the wine list is a bargain....try it!!!!
