Unlike most hot spots, admission to designer-turned-nightlife impresario Matt Levine's swanky club can't be bought with a harem of models or an Amex Black Card. But those who do get past the bookstore facade and into the lounge get to party in style. The long, narrow space is lined with classic brown leather banquettes that do double duty as a dance floor when things start to get rowdy. A small but well-staffed bar is located near the entrance, opposite an appropriately over-the-top champagne wall lined with bottles of Armand de Brignac. An array of specialty cocktails--named after L.E.S.…
Feeling it!

Managed to get in last night with my girl - door policy is super tight, but it was worth the wait - music was sick, crowd was great - they even had a saxophone player and a trumpet player playing along with the DJ which brought a cool vibe. I wouldn't suggest going there with a group of friends - but its def NYC's new hotspot, I'm feeling it, and will def. be back...bring a date, bring a good crew...
Outside door staff can be a little rude, but they were just doing their job, but once you get inside - staff is amazing (and beautiful)...I am feeling The Eldridge!
- Pros: the crowd, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere
- Cons: the door staff
i was very impressed...

So I have been reading about The Eldridge opening up for several weeks now, I live on Eldridge Street, next door to The Eldridge... so I didn't know what to expect. At first I didn't want a pretentious wannabe hotspot in the LES. I walked by on Thursday - saw Donald Trump (he is huge in person), and a ton of 5'11 supermodels, then on Friday I saw what looked like the cast of The Hills, some 7 foot tall athletes, and then on Sunday night - I saw a very good looking and hot LES-hipster type crowd (which is more my scene)., and a lot of familiar faces (I don't recall all their names, but I def have seen them on TV). Monday was a mob scene, and then last night was a private party with Rolls Royce, Phantoms, Mercedes, and what looked like secret-service. All in all - I had not been inside yet, but from what the crowd outside looks like - The Eldridge looks legit - I am looking forward to actually (and hopefully) getting inside, and I am happy to have The Eldridge on my block - its bring a diversity that the LES needs...

This is the coziest spot in Lower East Side! It has great ambience and the service is attentive (and cute!). Your drinks are as strong as you request them...hehe....Good hip hop and R&B (at least when i was there Thurs) and definitely somewhere I'd go back to. :)
The Details on The Eldridge
When to Go:
All drinks are half-price on Thursdays from 6pm to 10pm.
The Extras:
The space hosts many small-scale gatherings, such as birthday and going-away parties. Catering is also available.
Know Before You Go:
Winging it at the iron-clad door isn't unheard of, and reservations can (and should) be made in advance, but the bouncer has final say--and usually what he says is "Not tonight." The only way to speed up entry is by procuring one of the laser-engraved admission cards distributed by Matt personally. For reservations, email reservations@theeldridge.com.
The Extras:
There's no kitchen, but the in-house hospitality consultant (who is like a concierge) is happy to provide menus so guests can order food. But be forewarned: The later and more crowded it gets, the less practical that really is.
What to Drink:
If you're springing for specialty drinks, try the Chrystie (made with VeeV Vodka, Licor 43, pineapple juice, lime juice, simple syrup, mint leaves and a pineapple leaf). If you're a real baller, order The Eldridge's $32 namesake cocktail, made with edible gold flakes.
When to Go:
A regular lineup of big-name DJs like Mel DeBarge spin nightly, and are often joined by a live saxophonist or trumpet player.
