Dodgy barmen

I was here celebrating my friends birthday. I got my first beer, an Estrella, from a barman wearing a hat for $6. When I went to get my second beer I was waiting to be served for five minutes despite the fact that no one else was waiting, the barman was simply ignoring me while he chatted to his friend. Eventually a second barman, with darker skin and glasses walked behind the counter. I asked him for an Estrella and he grumpily acknowledged my request and appeared put out that a paying customer would have the nerve to ask for a drink. When I gave him the $6 (which is what the menu says an Estrella cost and what I paid for my first drink) the barman said that it was in fact $6.50 due to tax. Maybe, he heard my English accent and thought he could take advantage of me but never in the 3+ years that I've lived in NYC have I been charged 50cents for tax on a drink at a bar. The bar itself has a good vibe and my friends said the tapas was splendid but for trying to pull a fast one on me at the bar this venue gets one star.

Amazing Tapas Bar in the West Village

My husband and I recently visited this lovely tapas bar. We intended stopping there for a bit to celebrate our anniversary and then off to dinner, but wound up staying there through dinner. We had an amazing time. The food and ambiance is amazing!! Stephen was truly gracious. Thank you Stephen - it was lovely speaking to you and getting more information about your establishment. Your passion comes through in every detail of this beautiful place. My husband and I still talk about that night and we will definitely be back!
