Love it!!!. I love the Libertine!! Is my favorite after work spot!! They have a great wine and beer selection. It is also a great date spot! The bar tenders are pros and make the best Martini's and mixed drinks. They also have the most delicious food! I have had almost everything on the menu and I have not had a bad meal yet!! The Libertine is the perfect place to if you are looking for a spot that is very classy and not expensive!!!

Cool Upstairs Bar, Good Food, Good Happy Hour. I came here last week for happy hour with a group from work. We sat upstairs in the library bar and had some drinks and food. The scene was quite (does no one know about this place?!?!?) but chill, way cool bartender, way cool space, and good food. The place is so unique for the area (must be because its inside a hotel) and a great place for after work drinks, but also good for a date. I dug the oysters and the little lobster sliders...a little pricier than was expecting but no biggie. They also have 2 for 1 martinis until 7pm! It is really hard to locate, on a quite corner off gold street, but definitely worth finding!

Great food -- cool bar. LIbertine is a great addition to the neighborhood. The Carpetbagger oysters are great (Fried, wrapped in proscuitto on truffle mashed potatoes -- really, really good). Fish and chips are great, as are the lobster sliders. The Library bar upstairs is a really cool place to grab a drink. I highly recomend hiting libertine for dinner and some drinks afterward.

Don't go for the food. Sadly, the second time we went was quite a disaster. The first time, we had great service, great food, and enjoyed the atmosphere. There were delicious breadsticks, great appetizers, and a very tasty burger. The second time, we brought two guests. We didn't get bread which was only noticed because the soups were extremely salty. Then, since we recommended the burgers, that's what our guests ordered. They were charred on the outside despite being right inside. Very disappointing given that the prices are not exactly reasonable. So, if you want to have a nice drink, it's pleasant enough. But, if you expect great food while you drink this is not the place. For a better burger with a good beer you may need to go to a pub.

Finally... Someplace to go in FiDi. Everyone in the Fn District has awaited this opening, and it did not disappoint (except for the exorbitant amount of time it took to get the bill and get it processed). The service was friendly, the environment was intriguing yet inviting, and the food and drink were all palate-pleasing. The drinks were a bit pricey, but there were a couple standouts (Basserman-Jordan Riesling, Long Island Lager). As for food, the burger for meat eaters and the delicate, flaky fish and chips for seafoodies were both superlative. The Jonah crab claws had the sweetness, but not the velvety texture of a great crab. The restaurant is surprisingly small (in a cool way), so if you want to sit in the "main" dining room, it would be helpful to specify this when making a reservation. Overall, a much needed and long overdue addition to this area of town.

A culinary oasis in the Financial District's black hole of a dining scene, the Libertine offers a revitalizing take on English pub grub in a setting that's both stately and trendy.. In Short
Todd English's latest venture delivers a rare commodity to the Financial District--innovation. While the trendy old-meets-new décor of the dining room (think checkerboard ceilings given a facelift and shiny mahogany bars lit by minimalist ceiling lamps) may seem Soho-esque, the upstairs Library Bar and its faux-stodgy décor channels classic Wall Street. English's fine brand of nouveau English pub food consists of classics with a twist, like Kobe grilled hot dogs, sweetbread bacon clubs, and steak tartare with roasted bone marrow.
