What People Are Saying About Hea

In Short
The East Village might not need another pan-Asian restaurant, but Hea (pronounced "he") is more than just that. The place doubles as a lounge, and, true to its moniker (the Cantonese word means "chill out"), invites patrons to unwind. Guests can swig a lychee martini in a banquet or in the wicker gazebo on the main floor, then head upstairs to sit at the sushi bar, or at a table within the more formal dining room. Staffers serve up signature dishes (grilled skate wrapped in banana leaves and coconut and galangal soup) to hungry trendsters looking to have a meal and a taste of nightlife, without the burden of changing locations.

I noticed this spot and wandered in now have been there 3x -- great fresh sushi rolls and a delicious hot appertizer/entree menu. Good beer & drink selection. The lounge downstairs has a lot of potential and the dining room upstairs has a rustic charm. They do need to do a better job marketing but hopefully the word-of-mouth will get through!
