Citysearch Editorial Review. This unmarked Lower East Side basement lounge may be small, but that just makes its exclusivity--and it is exclusive, to be sure--seem justified. In contrast to many New York hot spots, Chloe is anything but gaudy, with white tiled walls and red leather banquettes that give the space a clean, understated look. The crowd, in contrast, is more prone to flash: It’s a fabulous mix of young fashionistas, hipsters and downtown scene-makers, all of whom seem to know each other, even if they really don’t. Music is DJ-provided, and tends toward a mashup of indie, hip-hop, electronica, punk and ‘80s pop, rarely veering into tiresome Top 40 territory. The bartenders are as good-looking as the patrons, and the drinks are stiff--but thankfully, nothing else about the place is.
Waste of time!. So a friend told me about this place about a year ago, well maybe that's why he told me a year ago. I ended up going a few weeks back and what a disappointment. We get to the place and before we can walk down the stairs some scrubby looking teenage kid asks my guy friend who he is here to see as if this is some celeb hang out. When you get inside it is filled with nobody. Over priced drinks and some old music. It must have been the night because even the bartender commented on how dead it was. Maybe I will give it another try some other time.
finally a place where i can relax.
great, pretension...exactly what i'm looking for...
who doesn't want a twist of attitude with their cocktail?
not to mention the categorical looks that fly back and forth...oh goody...i'll run to the atm so i can spend my cash here! yeah...
pscht!
