In May of 2012 I had Lasik performed by dr. Mandel. Before the procedure I was very scarred but dr. Mandel and the rest of Mandel Vision personnel were so kind and encouraging that my fear was soon gone. With dr. Mandel I felt I was in the best hands. He is one of the rare doctors who gained my complete trust. I can not describe a pleasure that came with a clear sight without glasses and contacts as I hated the both. No more blurry vision when I wake up in the morning and finally it is easier to wake up. No more hassle with contacts on the airplanes. I can swim and dive without anxious feeling that I might lose my contacts. I know people who had Lasik performed by some other doctors. However, it happened that they had to go back for corrections. Dr. Mandel got it all done within 10 minutes. Thank you dr. Mandel for making my life much easier because finally I can see!

Had lasik with Dr. Mandel last week, and I am now seeing 20/20. I've been waiting to do this for 15 years, but was too afraid. Dr. Mandel spent a lot of time helping me figure out the best option for me. I am neurotic, and his sense of humer has definitely helped calm my nerves, as my eyes continue to adjust to monovision. He is a great surgeon, and I would recommend him to anybody.

Absolutely amazing! I was very nervous about getting the procedure done but the friendly and informative staff (especially missy who was my coordinator) and the personal time and attention from dr mandel made me feel very comfortable with going through with the procedure. The procedure was very quick with minimal discomfort. Dr mandel led me through everything that was happening and before I knew it was done. I had the procedure yesterday and see very close to perfect today (vision gets better by the hour!!). This man is a genius!! I highly highly recommend dr mandel and his practice.

A couple months ago my retina surgeon
referred me to Dr Mandel. I went into Mandel Vision for a consultation and have been grateful for the recommendation ever since. Dr Mandel and his team always take great care of me. They see me right on time, answer all my questions, and explain everything they do, including narrating my surgery – which helped me a lot! (Plus, as another reviewer noted, Dr Mandel has a great sense of humor!)
They've also been accurate in predicting each step of my recovery from PRK (Dr Mandel's Lasik alternative). While a full recovery may take me another month or two, at ten days post-PRK I'm already seeing better than I did with contacts. I can't wait to see how good my vision gets, and they're just as excited as I am. And that's another thing I like about them: Dr Mandel, the technicians (thanks Nancy and Missy), and nurses (thanks Kim and Crystal), all really care. Dr Mandel told me he loves curing people, helping people see. Thanks, Dr Mandel, you've done that, for sure, for me!

Be afraid..
Be afraid, be very afraid. Dr. Mandel is an excellent surgeon, but he is more businessman than doctor. Dr. Mandel blatantly misrepresented the outcome of my surgery to sell his services. After a very disappointing outcome from my surgery, I went to see a different doctor and was told that I was not the "perfect candidate" Dr. Mandel claimed I was.
The office is very nice, including the massage chairs, but it's all part of the sales pitch. The office is a factory -- don't expect Dr. Mandel to spend much time really getting to know your individual situation. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor that's focused on providing quality care and not a doctor that's focused on building a marketing machine to make as much money as possible off anyone he can.

Why didn't I do this sooner?.
I cannot recommend Dr. Mandel and his staff highly enough. Their high level of professionalism, expertise, and experience are obvious and make the entire experience very comfortable and stress free. After a very thorough evaluation process, Dr. Mandel explained in very clear detail what my options were, his recommendations, and all the pros and cons. I decided to have the PRK procedure and Dr. Mandel walked me through it every step of the way (which was much quicker than you would expect). He was spot on with detailing how my healing process would proceed and everything went according to plan. I could not be happier with the results. In fact, my wife decided to have Dr. Mandel correct her vision after seeing my results!
Thank you for giving me and my wife perfect eyesight.
I would strongly recommend Dr. Mandel to anyone considering laser surgery.

I can see!!.
Mandel and his staff from the very start were friendly and professional. I did not feel like it was an Lasik factory. Mandel carefully evaluated me to make sure I was a good candidate for surgery. During surgery, I was informed of every step he was about to do so that I would be at ease. Within minutes, the surgery was completed. It was miraculous that I was able to look out the window and see everything clearly! Great doctor, highly recommended.

Exceeded Expectations. Had Lasik about a month ago here. Mandel and staff were all very professional. Didn't feel the "sales pitch". Was made aware of all the benefits and possible complications. The most thorough pre-exam I have ever gotten for anything. Post-op has been great as well. Results exceeded my expectations! Top notch doctor. Highly recommend.

Perfect Results and Great Professional Team.
I just had the LASIK procedure done 2 days ago by Dr. Mandel and am thrilled to report that I now have 20/20 vision and zero discomfort in my eyes. WOW! After 20 years of wearing contacts and glasses I have perfect vision again and it feels wonderful. I've been thinking about doing LASIK for years and right now my only regret is not doing this sooner.
Dr. Mandel is the consummate professional while also being very patient and gentle throughout the process. His staff of technicians and assistants are also outstanding; everyone I interacted with was both professional and kind.
From the initial consultation (very thorough!), to the actual procedure, to the post-op exam, I always felt like I was in great hands. And clearly I was because the results speak for themselves.
I have already recommended Dr. Mandel to certain close friends and coworkers who have been following my progress and considering this for themselves. As I have told each of them, I cannot imagine that there is a better option out there for this procedure.
