Be afraid..
Be afraid, be very afraid. Dr. Mandel is an excellent surgeon, but he is more businessman than doctor. Dr. Mandel blatantly misrepresented the outcome of my surgery to sell his services. After a
very disappointing outcome from my surgery, I went to see a different doctor and was told that I was not the "perfect candidate" Dr. Mandel claimed I was.
The office is very nice, including the massage chairs, but it's all part of the sales pitch. The office is a factory -- don't expect Dr. Mandel to spend much time really getting to know your individual situation. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor that's focused on providing quality care and not a doctor that's focused on building a marketing machine to make as much money as possible off anyone he can.…
Why didn't I do this sooner?.
I cannot recommend Dr. Mandel and his staff highly enough. Their high level of professionalism, expertise, and experience are obvious and make the entire experience very comfortable and stress free.
After a very thorough evaluation process, Dr. Mandel explained in very clear detail what my options were, his recommendations, and all the pros and cons. I decided to have the PRK procedure and Dr. Mandel walked me through it every step of the way (which was much quicker than you would expect). He was spot on with detailing how my healing process would proceed and everything went according to plan. I could not be happier with the results. In fact, my wife decided to have Dr. Mandel correct her vision after seeing my results!

Mandel and his staff from the very start were friendly and professional. I did not feel like it was an Lasik factory. Mandel carefully evaluated me to make sure I was a good candidate for surgery.
During surgery, I was informed of every step he was about to do so that I would be at ease. Within minutes, the surgery was completed. It was miraculous that I was able to look out the window and see everything clearly! Great doctor, highly recommended.

Exceeded Expectations. Had Lasik about a month ago here. Mandel and staff were all very professional. Didn't feel the "sales pitch". Was made aware of all the benefits and possible complications. Perfect Results and Great Professional Team.
I just had the LASIK procedure done 2 days ago by Dr. Mandel and am thrilled to report that I now have 20/20 vision and zero discomfort in my eyes. WOW! After 20 years of wearing contacts and
glasses I have perfect vision again and it feels wonderful. I've been thinking about doing LASIK for years and right now my only regret is not doing this sooner.
Dr. Mandel is the consummate professional while also being very patient and gentle throughout the process. His staff of technicians and assistants are also outstanding; everyone I interacted with was both professional and kind.
From the initial consultation (very thorough!), to the actual procedure, to the post-op exam, I always felt like I was in great hands. And clearly I was because the results speak for themselves.
