Formerly Divine Bar East, this two-story townhouse has a homey yet sexy feel, setting it apart from the typical after-work options in midtown (overpriced hotel lounges and sports bars). The decor is a mix of red and gold damask wallpaper, glass chandeliers, cigar bar-style leather wing chairs and ottomans, a cherry wood and onyx bar, and a hodgepodge of museum-esque pieces collected during trots around the globe. The small plates leave you feeling like you've been on an exotic vacation without the fuss of having to pack a suitcase. – – Hits: The eclectic wine…

Editor's Tips

Food Served:
Highlights on the menu include the blackened jumbo shrimp, three cheese macaroni, and lamb chops.
The Extras:
Instead of lamping in the hallways, snag a spot in the so-called library or living room for an optimal lounging experience.
What to Drink:
Try the Jezebel, a $15 specialty cocktail combining rose-infused gin, muddled strawberries, Thai basil, and Meyer Lemon.

  1. Food was good too, although the menu is limited.
  2. "fine" "elegant" tapas restaurant - as the kind General Manager described their menu, or a late night lounge - as the music changes horribly and drastically from jazz standards, random indian music and then house music late at nights.
  3. The staff was pleasant and willing to explain the tapas on the menu to us.

Terrible, rude, overpriced, overcharged, rip off.

by Neighbor22 at Citysearch

Minimum credit card charge: $50.

Same drink was charged: $ 10, 12, 14 by different bartenders.

No last call announcement, bought a drink at 3 am, lights went up righ away, asked bouncer if i can finish my drink, need a few minutes : got "take your time, no problem". In two minutes two other bouncers came, forcefully took my drink, trashed and physically forced me out saying that the place is closing and only staff will stay. If was on friday , nov 5th. Asked they names: got " Not your business from one , dark skinned, chobby with braids, the other call himself Ken."

This is terrible humiliation forcing people out before the closure without warning and rip off because was no last call announcement made and no time was given to people to finish the drinks and leave.

Low low life people there.

Owner or management has to be present to see what his people are doing.

One of the bouncers with the birthday at that day asked me to have sex with him in the bathroom or go to hotel because this is his birthday.

Do not go.......

and I thought Midtown was Lame.....

by VIPISME at Citysearch

I am strictly a downtown girl but I checked this place out one night at happy hour. I was in desperate need of a drink last week after an hour and a half wait at a casting. ugh.

My girls and I rolled in and got escorted to the upstairs area. We sprawled out in these huge red antique chairs where we were feet away from a balcony that we could go outside and smoke on! Music was cute dance/pop, sangria was 6 bucks and our waitress was super cool! There are very few places where the cocktail waitress will understand your stress and bring you the next one before you even have to ask. Needless to say my stress level dropped and we started a rockin' evening here. I have to get back for late night!!!

  • Pros: Balcony, Drinks, Staff
  • Cons: .....hmmm....none!

Awesome midtown lounge!

by nycfoodie88 at Citysearch

So I had my birthday party here after a recommendation from a friend. I reserved the upstairs space and was not disappointed! I had about 100 people show up and everyone had a blast!! The place itself is amazing with 2 floors and nice antique looking furniture. It looked like whoever decorated it took some time and really put some thought into it. The drinks were good and the service was excellent! Apparently they had just undergone some new management change and they are trying to make it a point to make sure all their customers now are being extra taken care of :) I highly recommend this lounge and will definitely be going back on a regular basis!

  • Pros: great drinks, unique decor and cool seating, great service!
  • Cons: none!

this place is awful

by diamondgirly at Citysearch

a group of my friends went to haven last night (a friday) and it was the worst service I've experienced in New York in the 12 years I've lived here. First the waitress tricked us into buying drinks saying if we bought before midnight our second one was free and she even gave us coupons. Then she came back and asked us to move because our table was reserved for someone with bottle service (seriously - at this place) and the people were coming in 10 minutes - they never came. THen they didn't honor our second drinks with the tickets. The manager *Jose who obviously had no idea how to run a bar) came over and he was absolutely so rude. Did nothing to accommodate us in any way or fix the situation. The drinks were horrible, staff and management rude, and the music was awful. I'm giving everyone fair warning. There are so many good places in this city don't ever step foot into this places. It was the worst!

  • Cons: staff, management

love it!

by heatherb82 at Citysearch

i really love haven! such a nice spot; especially for midtown. they have a really great atmosphere and a good looking crowd of people, from bankers to artists (i'm the latter!).

the happy hour is the best part though, because from 5-830 (double check the time) they have $13 pitchers of mixed drinks. i recently tried the margarita pitcher, but apparently it's different on different nights so you can get cosmos, sangria and more. awesome food too!

great music too!

  • Pros: great happy hour, burlesque night and great food
  • Cons: i live too far downtown!
