My hangout place. Lovely ambiance, lovely and friendly owner, music just loud enough, good wines, great ceviches. What else do we need?

worth trying. Desnuda sounds like it is a really nice place for wine and ceviche. I look forward to trying it sometime soon.

Best wine bar in EV, maybe in NYC. Love this spot. I go all the time even though I normally like to try new places. The fans, the latin beats, and the free truffle popcorn are a great touch. But it's all about the vino (try the cab/malbec from Maipu), the ceviche (try the mackerel), and the owner (he's the man). Go.

If you like ceviche. Amazing ceviche! The fish really melts in your mouth, and it is sushi quality fish. The place has only been open a few months but it so great I have already been there multiple times...and I pride myself on never going back to the same place twice in the last 5 years I've lived in Manhattan. It is a little bit pricey, (I'm a student and don't like to pay more than 20 bucks for well anything) but the cosy atmosphere, good music and delicious food make it worth it.

The bartender doubles as chef at this copper-lined East Village nook.. In Short
The East Village specializes in tiny, no frills haunts, but this ceviche bar takes it to an extreme: dark, narrow, without a kitchen, tables or even a place to stand, it somehow manages to attract local lonelyhearts and in-the-know trustafarian daters seeking that special someplace the outside world hasn't ruined. The effect of such posh touches as a mahogany and marble bar and copper walls increase the effect, and the quality of the oysters and other fresh fish seems to be such as keeps locals coming back (the place is usually pretty crowded). Dishes like truffle-oil marinated mackerel and tea-smoked oysters are no doubt part of the reason why.
