stay away!. I hope there is a nice view at the LI location, because that is the only positive thing that could can said about Almond. As for its NYC sister restaurant no such luck. I have lived and dined in NYC for 15 years is this is my 2nd worst meal in that time frame.

Bad all around. Arrived as party of four at 8:25 for 8:30 reservations. We were not seated till 9:15, no apology. The waiter then took another 15 minutes to show his face. The first two selections from the wine list were unavailable.

The men got the steak frites and we each took one bite and found it absolutely inedible. We would have sent it back but had zero expectation of improvement. So we paid $29.50 each for fries. The waiter never came back to ask how everything was, only to clear the plates. You would think when he saw two plates with uneaten steaks he might have inquired if we were satisfied , again no such luck.

No sign of management.

Poor food.

Poor service, with plenty of attitude.

Stay away!

Great Restaurant Transplant. Normally my wife and I go to the one in Long Island which is fantastic. I guess there is a theme here because the one in the city is amazing as well. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. I believe there is more of a variety of dishes than the one in LI. The mac and cheese and roasted chicken were excellent. We would go again if we didn't go to the original so often. Oh, and the pool table is a nice touch.

This Is The Place. Almond is magical: the bar, the dining room, the staff, the food - it all works. The menu is varied, and yet everything the kitchen produces is so satisfying: tasty curried mussels; in-house charcuterie; picture-perfect chicken, delectable roasted fish; sumptuous braised short ribs; unsurpassed steak frites; exquisitely prepared vegetables; truly memorable desserts. The list goes on. All this at a price so reasonable we don't deserve it! One visit, and you will return again and again. This is just one fun night out for dinner.

Can't wait to go back!. Love Almond! I've been there twice in the last 3 weeks. Both times for brunch but would love to go there for dinner. Almond is great for both groups and dates. The service is outstanding and always on top of either clearing our plates or making sure we had drinks. I substituted the hash browns for a side salad and was not charged extra. Normally I have to pay more for substitutions. The ambiance is great! The wine list is well priced and so are their special cocktails.

I had the Omelette Of Chorizo, Manchego Cheese & Red Onion & I Loved it! A friend of mine got the pancakes and they were to die for. I don’t have a bad thing to say about Almond.

Poolsharks Beware. I went up here and heard eating almonds stops you from feeling hungry, but they also make you want them more.

I came out here with a friend from L.A., but I was drawn to the regulation size antique billiard table.

play soft, enjoy the warm lights, meat & potatoes and a swell crowd. really great crowd. just relaxed people. maybe it's the lights, they're kinda old - but you know antique, like the pool table..

I go there for pool sessions with a buddy and a busy kitchen and - occassionally - the DJ - something about the mixture of quality ceramics, woods, irons and glass make for moving conversations - maybe it's the sonic results bouncing off the spacious unpretentious atmosphere.

Love this place. I work in the neighborhood and happened upon Almond while looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating. What a great find! I've been going back at least three times a month ever since. I am truly baffled by the reviews criticizing the food. Every dish I've tried has been fresh, seasoned to perfection and appetizingly presented. I particularly love the mussels and short ribs for the appetizers. The arctic char and scallops are to die for. I don't eat pork, so my only complaint is that many of the dishes include bacon or chorizo. I was really impressed with the waitstaff. Every day the chef reviews the menu with them to insure that they are informed about all aspects of the dishes. Do yourself a favor and put Almond on your list of restaurants to check out.

What's all the fuss about?. My friends all rave about the branch of this restaurant in the Hamptons, and think this one is only slightly behind. What are they thinking? Have they no taste buds? Several friends and I went for dinner recently, and everything we ordered was as tasteless as hospital food. I kept wondering if they had run out of salt and pepper in the kitchen. Yes, the scallops were perfectly cooked, the mac and cheese was nice and creamy, but nothing had any flavor to speak of. Yes, the cocktails were quite good. Maybe they figure if you drink enough of them, you won't notice that nothing has any flavor.

Nuts for Almond!. Went here on a Wednesday night and it had a nice bar crowd. Had drinks and snacks with my friend and thought it was an overall great experience. The bartenders were friendly and made great suggestions on drinks and eats. The mac and cheese is not to be missed and we really enjoyed their desert. The space is airy and had a fun vibe to it, the design had a bit of a Balthazar feel to it but with wood ceilings. I will definitely go back for the food, bartenders and the scene.

Great Place to Eat... This place has great food and staff. The sea scallops was cooked to perfection and the garlic crushed potatoes was creamy and a delightful addition to out entrees. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food, ambience and definitely drinks...
