Good cut grew out very well
by imakeupme
I went here because it seems I've tried every pace in this city at one point or another. The haircut was really good but not what I asked for. Altho I never get what I ask for I'm sure now it has more to do with my hair type than the stylists skills. I have very dark think curly hair. No matter where I go I tell them to give me a cut/style and not to cut my hair short because i have thick curly hair and it needs to be long. they always cut too much.
I came here and of course they cut like 4-5 inches off which was way too much but that was a few months ago and it has grown out nicely. so i'm not sure how i feel about this place at first I was pissed but my cut has held up so i guess i got my moneys worth.
I started crying when I got home!

I went to Pimps & Pinups last night for the first time and my stylist name was Flame, what a disaster that experience was... I asked for hair color swatch book, he gave it to me, but took it away asking just to tell him what I wanted. I told him that my color was too brassy and I wanted the base to be like the hair on the back, because my natural hair is dark brown and my roots were to noticeable because of what I had on top was too light, I asked him that I wanted lighter highlights around my face and thin once so they are not that noticeable for half head... Well... I was shocked when the towel came off - it was way too light - he made my base mousy dirty blond and the placement of highlights was all wrong! I've been coloring my hair for 23 years, but he started arguing with me about my natural hair color!!! I even showed him in the swatch book, but he still argued with me like it was my first time getting my hair done... ughhhh. He had to tone down my roots and add a highlight around my forehead - which came out yellow, but he still argued with me that it was not yellow, I made him take out the yellow - no more highlight!... so the toner in the end he only washed out with water, I came home and my scalp was on fire, I had to wash it with conditioner again, forget about getting a haircut or having a nice blow out, I could not get out of there fast enough! It was 9:30pm by them (I came in at 6:30pm for roots touch up and half head highlights). So now I would have to go find a professional to get that fixed and I paid $200! My hair now looks awful! What a terrible job, and he ruined my already over processed hair completely... I started crying when I got home and looked in the mirror, and I don't cry very often...
Really Great Haircut
by thegriller
My first real time in a salon in over 5 years. (I shave my head.) And it was a perfect from start to finish. I walk in and they are playing the Pixies. That's a plus. Then the product they use I can't find in NYC stores: Kevin Murphy. Perfect. Then Lizzie. She gave me a perfect haircut. I was contemplating shaving my head again - but after this haircut I think I'll keep it going. And a glass of wine while you're getting your hair done is the cherry on top.
shannon is a great colorist
by annemarie626
shannon colored my hair today. she is amazing. she took the VERY dark brown hair color out of my hair and turned it back into the super light beige blonde that i'm used to. i'm super impressed. at the nape of my neck, where it had been colored almost black, there are what looks like strawberry blonde lowlights now, but not brassy or orange looking at all. it's amazing what she was able to accomplish in one sitting. also, she didn't seem to dry it out or damage it.
Amazing Haircuts!
by wallstreetdi
I decided to do a search for cool salons in the city for a haircut. It's been a few months and I desperately needed one. Once I read that this is a salon in London as well, I had to try it. Boy am I glad I did. Shannon was amazing. She spent a lot of time asking me exactly what I wanted and did exactly what I asked!! I have been getting compliments all day at work. (Every one noticed). I will definitely be back. I am so sick of salons that cut your hair straight boring across...I love all the choppiness..super sexy. Did I mention the complimentary wine.. Loved it!!
