Tips for Dardanel Mediterranean Seafood

Freshest Seafood. I checked out few reviews here and there and decided to take my date there last Friday. It was beyond my expectations and we end up having a really nice date which was complimented by the romantic ambiance, great service, and the freshest seafood I've had in years. Two people wine and dine like kings & queens cost $75. We loved it so much..., hope this place is around in the next 10 or 20 years so that maybe we can go back there for our anniversary, given that we last that long. :) Highly recommend this place!

Awesome. This is a very cool place to hang out with friends and family, and also for a romantic date, I thought.

The food was very flavorful and reasonably priced. I really liked their turkish wine which was very smooth and crisp.

The ambiance was romantic, refreshing and appetizing with its wall to wall oil paintings of Mediterranean scenery , sea-salt candles, and dimmed lights. Service was outstanding as well; very friendly and professional. The place is a bit small so the reservation ahead of time might be necessary. I suspect that I'll become a regular there since my place is only 4 blocks away. I recommend you to try their zucchini pancakes as an app, and the fresh mediterranean dorado sea bass as an entree if you are seafood lover as I am. FYI, I have no relations to this place other than being a one time costumer.

Fantastic!. Truly outstanding in all categories; food quality & taste, ambiance, and service. I'll be back at no time. I'd very much recommend it to all foodies of NYC!

Very Bad Choice. Dardanel is the worst turkish restaurant in all of NYC! Upon entering this place you will feel trapped because it is small and very narrow with no outside view. They seated 3 of us at a table for 2 with an extra chair while the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. The greek islands pictures on the walls claimed (lie) as turkish islands by the owner/manager is as trustworthy as this people can ever be. (I AM A NOT GREEK.) I've eaten at 10 or more turkish restaurants all over the city and this place is by far the least favorable in my opinion. The food is certainly not fresh and indeed very very greasy without the expected good flavor you'd get from most greasy foods. They obviously lie in their menu about serving organic ingredients. SHAME ON THEM! Playing pop music while claiming to be Mediterranean restaurant was beyond awkward or funny. Not surprisingly, the service was below average too. Since they couldn't answer many of our menu questions they obviously don't know what they were serving. To top that, they brought and served us room-temperature bottle of white wine with the excuse "this is as cold as it gets." The emptiness of the restaurant had us hoping that they will close up soon and hopefully re-open under different management and chef so that the neighborhood gains as a whole.

Horrible!!!. Despite our neigbor warning us not to go to this place we went there based on some of the good reviews here and there. Unfortunately, it was truly bad on all grounds. So bad that I am taking time out of my busy schedule to write this review so it might be helpful to others. The food is very greasy and tastes very gamey.( I don't even have the heart to hand out that food to a homeless person.) There's a bad rotten smell inside the restaurant that you cannot ignore. The decor is very rubbish and silly. The layout of the place is very narrow and claustrophobic. The service is far from professional or cordial. The price wouldn't matter much if the food could live up to it but obviously NOT! P.S : I don't appreciate fake/good reviews written by people who are related to restaurant's owner or manager to some degree. Stop it, you are not helping your own cause. Stay aware, stay away fellow diners!

One word > "Delicious!". I first went to this place with my BF and it was awesome. I'd say that it's a perfect dining-out spot for couples and friends. Last night I took my mom there and she absolutely loved it. The food there is uniquely tasty and "healthy." Unlike other Mediterranean or middle eastern restaurants, the food is NOT greasy and full of carbs, which is a big deal to me. Also, lovely decor, pleasant music, excellent prices, and good service. I highly recommend this place for couples, friends, and family dining. And, if you are within their delivery zone then consider yourself lucky.

Cheers,

Sharon

Best Fish, Best Hummus, Best Family Service. This is a heaven for fish lovers. Not to mention lamb and hummus. Gaya and Ishmael also make you feel so a home. This Turkish delight is the best NYC has to offer. Have the whole Branzino and don't forget the stuffed grape vines. I smile just writing this review as my mouth waters. Once you got you'll alway go back.

Editorial Review. This affordable Mediterranean seafood restaurant straddles the line between midtown and the Upper East Side.
