Made a special night all that much more special.... In searching for a place to host a 70th birthday dinner for my father, we selected Tapas Floridita because of its ideal location and its great food. I have to add that the service was wonderful, the planning was hassle-free, the cost very reasonable and they were very accommodating to all of my requests. The flamenco show was impressive and added to the feeling that we were in a bar in Spain.

The evening was very special and I would totally host another event there. I recommend this restaurant, whether for drinks & tapas, an intimate gathering or a large group.

Raising the bar in our neighborhood. For most of the 12 years I?ve lived in west Harlem entering ?Tapas? IN ?Harlem? in this website?s search bar would have been a wild act of wasted keystrokes. For whatever reasons, Floridita Tapas arrived in Harlem and the results are good.

I frequent the neighborhood?s relative newcomers: Pisticci, Dinosaur, Covo, Max SOHA, none are as consistently welcoming and rewarding as Floridita Tapas. The atmosphere is quieter, less rushed, less smushed and dare I say, a little more romantic. It?s been open over a year. The original group of waiters and bartender still holds court. They are all well seasoned, gracious and possessing an attitude that suggests that they might actually enjoy the food and the job.

The menu is expansive?a couple dozen tapas plates and as many entrees. I?ll share that the homemade soup of the day is always above par and the seafood paella is worth the extra wait. Salads have too much dressing so go for on the side. If you can bring yourself to do it, there are options for eating lighter calorie fare. If I had to pick a last meal it would be the coconut flan. It?s creamy and crunchy, served with wisps of vanilla, raspberry and chocolate sauce and dollops of cinnamon through which you can run each spoonful.

The bar offerings are equally nice. Judging by what?s on the tables the place is building a following for its sangria--six or more varieties. The extremely knowledgeable bartender will tweak one to your taste. Try ?champagne light on the sugar.? He also knows wine and mojitos. The mojitos are mixed more akin to what I?ve tasted in Havana?and they?re tall.

My spouse and I took out-of-town visitors here for a long, conversational dinner. We?ve gone ourselves because we crave something on the menu?say sauteed octopus with very fine olive oil and paprika. When we couldn?t fathom getting groceries and cooking after work we shared a tapas combo platter and salads at the bar. Floridita Tapas has pleasantly delivered under all scenarios.

Wonderful Experience, My Family and I had a Great Time. Floridita is such a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and very romantic. And the service was so nice, our waiter was most professional and prided himself as he gave us nothing less than "White Glove" service. My family and I shared a combination of Tapas from the Tapas Menu which was very delicious. I was impressed with the variety of dishes on the menu, something for everyone. So the night ended with me and my family having a great dinner, and drinking Mojitos the whole time. Dang those were good! They know their drinks too.
