Best Birthday Korean Party

I made a reservation here for my birthday dinner. I mistook it for another place. My favorite Korean barbecue place in Koreatown which was across the street, but there are so many Korean barbecues just on that one block I wasn't all that surprised I called the wrong place. Nonetheless, I was just as satisfied with Hangang. We were a group of 9 (including myself). The portions of meat for the barbecue were huge. The waitress was very patient and accommodating. The only thing that tasted off was the side platter of kimchee; I think we got the remainders from the bottom of the barrel because the vinegar was overpowering. Other than that, everyone was very happy with the food and service.

Best restaurant in K-Town

Delicious kimchi jjigae. Served in the proper dolsot over a flame to keep it hot. It was nice and thick and flavorful and somehow all of the ingredients, clear noodles included, soaked up the deliciousness of the broth.

Banchan was plentiful, and I rather enjoyed the spicy tofu. In fact, now that I think about it, everything I had was tasty. Perhaps my tongue was in an especially good upon arrival, so it tasted without discrimination.

As for the place itself, seating was plentiful, staff was friendly, and the place was bright and clean. This will be filed in my "will return to" section of K-town restaurants I've tried.
