worst experience ever.
I had the single worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant/bar at this place. Let me explain why.
We went in, sat down at the bar, and ordered our drinks. The bartender/owner, Henry, served us. The second after we got our drinks, his wife presented us with a check and said "I'll take that whenever you're ready." We were surprised, because we'd expected to stay a while and maybe have another drink. After about five minutes, she came back over and said, "Have you taken care of this yet?" Her tone made it sound like she was a teacher disciplining a student. We said no and asked her when they were closing. She replied that they were already closed. She had the coldest attitude possible, like she was a police officer talking to a suspect. We were pretty annoyed already but tried to make the best of the situation. I put down my credit card to pay, but nothing happened. 10 minutes later, after I came back from the restroom, I found his wife in an argument with my wife and talking to her in a very confrontational way. The issue was that they had already shut down their payment system for the cards, and were now blaming us for the problem. I asked his wife why they hadn't just told us they were already closed when we walked in. She didn't have an answer. She just started demanding that we pay and telling us how they have business hours and that they were now closed. In essence, we were being kicked out of the place after less than 30 minutes--before we even finished out drinks, and we were causing her so much trouble by being there. It was unbelievable and was the exact opposite of customer service. She didn't care how rude she was. She just wanted to get our money right at that second and wanted us to leave. It wasn't just that she had disrespected me, but the way that she was talking to my wife. I feel really sorry that Henry has to deal with her.
Please save yourself this kind of harassment and go to any of the other hundreds of sushi places in Manhattan.
eat sushi, drink sake, repeat. Went to Alpha last night and had a great time! The staff was helpful and friendly, the food was creative and delicious, and the drinks kept on coming! Definitely try the Tuna Twister Roll and Gekeikan Sake.
Great Food Drinks and Fun!.
Love this place! It's a hidden gem near Penn Station. The food is delicious and always fresh. Love the Sunday Night Bartender. I've become a regular now on Sundays just for her since she keeps the place lively and is always ready to serve me another drink!
But I will return to Alpha any day of the week since it's just that good! Seriously what a great find that Alpha Fushion!
Fresh Food. Great Drinks!. Was just here on a Sunday night with a big group of friends. The sushi was so fresh. They have cool and creative dishes like spicy tuna tartlet (served on pringles). Ask the bartender for a big red lemonade- its not on the menu but it will knock your socks off. Yum!
Best Sushi for the best price. The service is friendly and the decor, in spite of the size, is warm and comfortable. My friend and I have been going once a week.
Greatest food in the world. OMG I am not a big sushi fan. I had the greatest experience at this restaurant. The manager is cool as hell. The service is excellent and the food was awesome and prices are reasonable. You must try the kc roll and ask for the henry hook up which is brought to the table in flames (literally). I live in nj but it is only a train ride away. I will surely be back. I thank henry and the staff at alfha fusion for their supierior hospitality and i wish you them all the best.
Best New Sushi Restaurant. We here, at CS, order sushi 4x a week. the food is the best in the neighborhood. not just because he is a customer. we recommend highly to everyone!!! The sushi is fresh and excellent, the delivery was very quick and efficient.
Yummy!. As a New Yorker who dines out several times a week, it's so refreshing to find a restaurant that continues to make the grade over and over. I've been a fan and have turned on many friends and business associates to this not-so-hidden gem.
omg I'm in sushi heaven!!. Finally, here's a pan-asian restaurant that offers great food, great staff and great prices all in one! The lunch special is $6.50+tax and you get soup or salad and more than plenty heaping of food!! AND the food taste really good and fresh. Try the crispy red napper or flounder served with hot & sour sauce, sesame chicken (sounds lame, but it's so crispy and sweet and very lightly battered), or the beef tenderloin or seafood lover's From the sushi bar, ask for the Centipede Roll or Uni Tempura (this isn't even on the menu.. it's the sushi chef's SPECIALS). Those guys prepare the sushi like it's a five-star restaurant.. Order the Volcano Roll and it comes with FIRE (seriously!) The manager Henry is one of the nicest people I've ever met.. He does birthday parties, cocktail party, pre-fix menus, anything you want.. Great place to bring your date to also because it's very calm during dinner time. The food at Alpha beats those at Haru, Nobu or the cheap-o East.
Most Beautiful Tasting Cuisine, Interior and Wait Staff this Side of Town!. The music in this place makes my classsically trained ears wimper. Fortunately they turn the music down when I begged. If your young at heart this funky place has lots of love, in terms of its delightul menu. The green tea crepe is my absolute favorite moment of bliss for my sweet tooth. Oh the real food is as eye catching as the adorable to hot waitstaff and the cool interior, My blissful evening tonight began with the Alpha Baby Ribs with Honey Sauce, The moist melting ribs went to a great cause:: my happy tummy!! The vietnamese mango salad kept my tongue saited for spicy. i hope the waitress thought it was because of her i was waving my hand over my mouth when I bit a pepper! Oh yes! The sushi and sashimi is on par and presented like a five star restaurant! My favorites are the funny fantasy creatures created with the combination roll platters like the dragon and volcano. I have brought groups of friends for pre-fix dinners. Alpha's owners arranged a great pre-fix selection, according to my budget, during the holidays. All my guests were very happy and ready to return for more. I often order the lunch specials such as the Thai Crispy Flounder and the Sambai Sauce with Tofu that are more interesting than other asian fares between Hells Kitchen and Union Square. Much of the staple favorites of Asian cusine are also available for the less adventurous. Unfortunately they do not have a liquor license yet, however they allow you to bring your own and no fee!!!! Dont forget to save space for the green tea crepes! You will squeal for joy!
