Nice waiters but bad food. I went on Friday, Oct 30, 09. We ordered beer and fried calamary, salat with chicken and french fry. Everything was over fried. Don't waist your time
Hi JD,
We are so sorry to hear that your food was overcooked on your last visit but we would love to make it up to you. If you give us your email address we'll send you a gift certificate for a drink and appetizer on the house. On your next visit you can play it safe and try something that's not fried like our mac n cheese or sliders.
Regards,
Bar 108 Management
Cool staff, hoegaarten on tap.
A great find, if you can get there before 10 on the weekend. (The weekend starts on Thursday.) Come later and you might be squeezed out by NYU jocks and jockesses. On weekdays, the place is less crowded all night. There are plenty of TVs, and it seems as if it's fashioning itself a sports bar. Fortunately, it's failing in that and turning into a nice neighborhood bar instead.
The waitstaff and bartender are all spectacularly friendly and accommodating. Not much choice in food. Nachos, or hummus. (Chicken wings are on the menu, but I don't believe they ever have them). Not bad beer choices, though. Hoegaarden on tap and we bought it by the picherfull. You can (and should) call in for pizza delivery from the terriffic Arturos, right next door. --Drink Club is a Roving Group of NYC Drinkers
love it. perfect addition to the neighborhood. i've been meeting my girlfriends here afterwork since they opened- (they have $5 wine that's actually decent!) and now that the weather is warming up they open the big windows on houston street and its as close to outdoor seating as you can get. my only complaint is that the kitchen isnt open yet and they keep telling me just a few more weeks!
My new hangout!.
I usually never write posts but, I live down the street from Bar 108 and a friend suggested we check it out for an early drinking spot saturday night... great call.
What ended up being a quick drink turned into a few rounds of drinks and wings. There are so many different beers and the bartender was really helpful at recommending a good one! Also... YOU MUST TRY THE WINGS... soooo good!
Definitely a new favorite hangout.
Perfect place to grab a beer!.
Bar 108 is the ideal place to grab a beer and watch a game! I stopped in the other day with a bunch of friends and I really enjoyed my time there. They have a great selection of beers and all of the appetizers I tried were delicious! If your looking for a casual yet classy spot to take in a game- this is definitely it!
PS- I also thought that the service was great which is always a plus!
Give me wings, beer, and sports and I'm in!. It's corner location made it stand out to me in the first place so you can imagine my surprise when I gave it a shot and found the experience quite pleasant. I was immediately taken care of the moment I sat down at the bar and found the service from there extremely accommodating. The food was delicious and served hot, just the way I like it! I will definitely be back!
Great Place to Catch a Game. Stopped by Bar 108 the other night for the Knicks/Spurs game on the advice of a friend of mine and I was really impressed. The drink list is one of the best I've seen at any bar, the wings were top notch and the waitresses were as hot as they come. It was a great environment to watch the game and I'll definitely be going back soon.
Swanky Soho sports bar packs in students on college game day, and tired tourists after a long day of shopping..
While the outside retains the characteristic Soho facade, the inside boasts a contemporary space of clean lines, back-lit lighting, dark wooden walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, a marble-topped bar and beige leather banquettes. Bar 108 provides a young yet sophisticated crowd of neighborhood college students with a place to watch sports on one of eight LCD TVs, and serves as a meeting spot for one last drink after a night out on the town. During the day, tourists stop in to take a break from the bustling shops nearby.
Hits: College students sick of the neighborhood dives need not worry about calling home to up monthly stipends. Bar 108 serves up over 30 varieties of bottled beers, and $5 drafts.
Misses: The playlist--which includes a shuffle of greatest hits albums from the likes of the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and U2--is a reminder of the bar's generic, dime-a-dozen motif.
