“am a big fan of the gastopub and am so happy to have some variety (other than the Spotted Pig) after discovering Wilfie & Nell.”
“Super nice people.”
“Service was a tiny bit slow but it ws a busy crowd so I'll give them a pass there.”
Interesting Ambience & Funky Bevarages. I love the look of Wilfie & Nell - there are antique beams, flowers in vases and candles - it's very country feeling. This is a wonderful place for a group of friends. The tables are all meant to be communal and you may end up sitting next to a strangers which can be a lot of fun. If you decide on Wilfie & Nell for a date, take a fella who likes beer - they have a wonderful beer menu. If you're more of a cocktail type of gal, make sure to take a look at their drink menu. Their lemonade drink - it features muddled lemons, citrus vodka and a splash of cranberry juice is absolutely fantastic. They have a small food menu & pride themselves in serving local fare which is a great cause to get behind.
Citysearch Editorial Review. The West Village may be populated by pubs, but not all ale houses are created equal. Wilfie & Nell has that mysterious “it” factor, attracting a diverse, well-heeled crowd and packing patrons into a simple but inviting exposed brick-walled space dotted with communal wooden tables. In addition to a variety of imported suds on tap, Irish small plates like Scotch eggs, corned-beef sandwiches and Berkshire pork sliders are also available--if you can find room to sit and eat.
Fantastic addition to the NYC Gastropub scene!.
I am a big fan of the gastopub and am so happy to have some variety (other than the Spotted Pig) after discovering Wilfie & Nell.
Their cocktails are amazing - totally unique, interesting and well made. I especially loved their margarita with the habanero agave. I also appreciated that their bartender was a real mixologist who made the drinks by recipe vs. just "eyeballing it" like a lot of other places do.
The food was equally awesome (I had the pork sliders, my boyfriend the scotch eggs). Service was a tiny bit slow but it ws a busy crowd so I'll give them a pass there.
Only drawback is that it does get crowded and there's not a ton of seating. But overall, I highly recommend coming here (unless you're a toolbag who will ruin it for the rest of us).
Cool Atmoshere.
