The uptown sibling of Zak Pelaccio's West Village original offers the same Malaysian menu that made the first eatery a hit.

Had a great meal there. Loved the punk rock in the dining room. The food was fantastic! Had that watermelon pork belly thing...awesome!
It doesn't even deserve 1 star

The service at this place was nonexistent. I don't know if the waiter forgot my order or the kitchen forgot to make my food but I waited 10 minutes for my pork buns while the rest of my table got their appetizers quickly. Then the server brought the main entrees to the table. Once again, I was left waiting for my food. After 20 mins of waiting and informing the waiter that I didn't receive my Chicken Clay Pot, I wasn't hungry anymore. By then, the waiter was nice enough to inform me that my food was coming out. Sir, everyone else at my table was almost done with their food and I'm not hungry anymore. Most restaurants wouldn't have charged me for the food BUT they charged me full price for the pork buns and the bowl of rice (which I only ordered to have with my chicken). $13 for the pork buns and $3 for the bowl of rice, which I only ate a few bites of while waiting for my clay pot. I approached the waiter asked him why I had to pay for the pork buns if it was part of my prix fixe and I only got half the food I ordered. The manager (at least I think it was since he didn't bother to introduce himself) said that they were already losing money offering the prix fixe just to get people into the restaurant. I don't know how that is my problem. He should talk to his accountant about that. If you are losing money on the lunch prix fixe, then why bother offering it? Anyways, this individual was extremely condescending and neither the "manager" or waiter bothered to even say sorry for the mixup or delay. I think the situation could have been better handled. A simple apology would be a start.
Horribly overpriced

As you can see by my username, this is the first food review I've ever posted. I have lived in New York for 3+ years now and have grown accustomed to overpriced meals, but this was the worst I've ever experienced. Everything on the menu is overpriced, but $50 for the chili crab is insane. They should be ashamed.
Gotta order the fatty dog.

We came because it was Malayasian Restaurant week but sadly the $20.10 menu was only for lunch!
We were seated promptly right underneath a speaker so the entire night with the music blasting, my companions and I had to shout to each other to maintain a conversation.
The green mango salad and fatty dog were very good. So was the crispy pork with pickled watermelons.
We were not impressed with the Nasi Lemak (coconut rice, chicken curry, slow poached egg) and the Dorade Penang (some kind of white fish). The former was expensive for what you got and the latter was too "fishy" and salty.
If I do come again, maybe I'll get the fatty dog, the salad and a (pricey) cocktail.
- Pros: Fatty dog, mango salad
- Cons: Dorade penang, loud music
BRING EARPLUGS and be prepared to shout

It was so loud that we had to tell the waitstaff to turn the volume down. The first attempt didn't get anything done. The second time, the staff turned it up even louder. When the food arrived, we told the waiter we were leaving because it was too loud and nothing was being addressed. Suddenly, money spoke louder than their sound system. The bare walls and uncarpeted floors just act as amplifiers.
I wish another restaurant can come up with the caliber and quality of their southern style chili crab (it's a very sweetened Johore/Singapore in flavor).
- Pros: Great tasting, almost like grandma's
- Cons: 1.5 servings hardly make a family style platter
