Can't wait to come back. I'm rarely in Harlem, but was visiting a friend and then looking for a place to eat together. I have to say I was a bit worried I wouldn't find a place in the neighborhood where I'd enjoy eating, so I was pretty happy and delightfully surprised to walk into Spaha Cafe. There was a nice variety of tasty treats on the menu and I decided to sample the pesto chicken sandwich on crusty ciabatta, while my pal had the vegan sandwich with grilled vegetables & tofu on whole wheat. I have to confess that I LOVED my pesto chicken, it was exactly what my taste buds were craving and the ciabatta bread made it perfect. I tried a bite of my friend's sandwich, and even though I am not a huge fan of vegan food, it was pretty darned good. We were still a little hungry and not ready to leave yet, so we shared a carrot souffle and it was sweet and mouth watering at the same time. I talked to the the lady who served us and it turns out she was the owner. She was a sweetheart and talked about her store and how she likes to support local suppliers. I thought that was pretty neat. I left that store feeling full and feeling good overall. If I'm ever back in that area, I'm definitely stopping by this joint again.

Precious little Cafe in East Harlem. I randomly ran into this place the other day and was very surpised to find a nice location like this in the middle of harlem! Dont get me wrong, I live in Harlem and love it, but this european style Cafe is something special here!

I took the nutritional dinner offer which was a charcoiled grilled chicken with any three items for only $11,95. I have to say it was astonishingly good! The chicken wasn't too dry and the sundried tomato I ordered with the meal were very tasty!

As I said I was surprised to find a place like this that offers good organic food at affordable prices in between all the subways and wendy's.

I'll come back!
