Dont Bother- there are plenty of other places. This place is nice and has great views. I actually work nearby and have gone 6 times already this year !!!! but it is really irritating that to make a reservation , you can not call, you can not email, you have to email and get an email back with an application that then has to be FAXED back not emailed back , with credit card and signature. then wait for a reply. So it doesnt matter how many times you go, you still go through all that hassle !!!!! to have a drink !!!!! NOT worth it, and yes the drinks are expensive $90 for a pitcher of Mojito's and not even strong..... They need a better reservation policy for me to ever go back.... really too bad

Bring lots of cash. Nice outdoor roof deck on the 17th floor? Had to be escorted up by their bouncers which was a little off putting but once you get up there its a nice scene. Drinks were expensive and appetizers were average at best and the portions were tiny. But the main reason to go there is for the views of the city.

Really fabulous place for cocktails and relaxing. I went here with some friends Friday night around 7 or 8pm. I should put out the disclaimer that I didn't have to wait on a line or anything so I don't know how the door policy is. I've def seen the line wrapped around the corner. However, everyone was extremely friendly. The bouncers were awesome, one of them stopped to chat with us and introduce himself - Ivan you're the best! The cocktail I had was great. Yes, drinks are expensive but drinks are always expensive at places more upscale places such as this. If you want cheap beers and rail drinks - which is totally fine - then head over to Connolly's or something a few blocks away. This would be a great place to entertain clients because it's classy and has a nice ambience. When it started to rain, the staff bruoght us over umbrellas since we preferred to stay outside and then moved us inside to a table when it began to pour. I really don't have anything bad to say about the place other than that it isn't wide open in terms of the deck space. Other than that, I absolutely recommend it if you're looking for a hip (but not snotty) place to have some rooftop cocktails.

Great Drinks, Great Date Place!!. I went on a first date at Mad46 it was a perfect first date location. The muisc was set to a perfect volume where you did not have to scream to hear the person next to you, and the lighting was romantic! The service was on point we never had an empty glass for more than 10 mins. I recommend this place for a girls night out or a date.

amazing rooftop party. Obviously the people who commented below me have never been to a rooftop bar in nyc and dont have a freaking clue. Clearly these are the type of people we dont want with us at Mad46. I went mad46 rooftop all last summer and i was just at the kentucky derby party on may 2nd. This place is hot. It is a secluded s*xy out door lounge with a new indoor lounge as well. There are bed and also private tables. Yes the drinks are expensive. Yes there is a line. This is a hot rooftop lounge that load of people want to come to bc it rocks. The prices are the same as any high end lounge. I love it here and i hope that lame broke complainers stop trying to get in and then the line will be shorter for the rest of us!! Great scene, attractive people. totally worth every penny!

forgettable ripoff. Typical phony "luxury" experience that has no business surviving in 2009 economy. Expect to needlessly wait half an hour for your sugary, overpriced cocktails to arrive from indifferent, uninspired, mathmatically-challenged staff. The roof garden is overlandscaped, obscuring the view of a fairly banal part of town to begin with. "Mad46" is a lazily-designed, obligatory add-on to a forgettable hotel in a forgettable part of town, marketed to an audience who makes up for a lack of taste with "mad" money to waste on a place without charm, quality, or style.

Awful.. Horrible on every account. Would never, ever recommend this place to anyone but my worst enemy. Waitresses dress in lingerie. Avoid at all costs.

Two thumbs up. Went this past Friday night had a good time. Good music, the crowd was not full of obnoxious bankers (yet), very good vibe. Would go back before everyone discovers it and becomes as bad as 230 Fifth.
