The Best!!. I was looking for a reliable, professional and affordable hair stylist for my wedding. I found Cocoro salon accidentally as we were staying at the Hotel on Rivington for our wedding, which is just around the corner. LJ - the salon owner could not be more accommodating, down to earth and really a delight to work with. She colored my hair a few weeks to the big day and styled my sister-in-law's hair the day of the Wedding. She did a great job on both of us. Mako, who is a hair stylist and a make-up artist, who also works at the salon did both my make-up and my hair on my wedding day. I cannot say enough about Mako. We had an inter-faith wedding, which required a change of clothes, different make up and a complete redo of hair style. She went above and beyond for me doing a truly wonderful job with my makeup and hair - TWICE. She came to the site of my wedding and had only 30 minutes to redo both my makeup and hair. She was prompt, efficient and pretty much gave me a makeover in no time in a tiny room with lots of people hustling around frantically. For weeks after the wedding people did not stop commenting on how beautiful I looked. The pictures turned out gorgeous. Mako is a true professional, creative, and knows exactly what you want and what will suite you best. On top of this she is also down to earth and sweet - a combination which in my experience is really difficult to find.

"Artistic Massage from Brian". I had a Swedish massage from Brian. His massage was just amazing. I wish I could know the words to express more than that. I have had so many massages, but never had a massage that I felt art in it.

His massage was sensitive, informative and, more than that, artistic.His stroke was unpredictable and each stroke reminded me I needed the area be worked.

I felt that he could read my mind.

Also, I felt he had three hands. His hand movement was magic and the result was miracle.

I think that fingers could directly express and reflect the mind of the massage therapist. I felt that Brian loves giving massage and is dedicated his times for brushing up his technique. Therefore, I received a great energy as well from Brian.

You must go.. hair: Mako is the best. Every time I go there I don't even need to say anything, she knows already. I trust her 100% and so you should do. Plus she s so cool I d go there only to hang out.

massage: The best as well. I have tried many. And Tamiko wins. Trust me.

great highlights at a great price. LJ is one of the best haircolorists I've ever been to. She's patient and meticulous, so the highlights look really natural. She's also gentle, which makes the experience a relaxing treat. For all this pampering and time, the price is incredibly low. The salon is a little out-of-the-way for an Upper East Sider, but well worth the trip for the great service.

Tamiko is the best in shiatsu!. Tamiko started massaging away my grad school kinks and knots about a year ago and I now must go to her once a month. She does an amazing job and getting my body in order with just the right amount of pressure. I can tell she is genuinely paying attention to what is going on b/c she makes comments about the different areas of my body and makes suggestions to alleviate the strain in my daily life. I've been getting massages in New York and San Francisco for years now, and she is by far at the top of my list! Thanks Tamiko!

Great hair salon. If you are looking for a good hair sylist, I highly recommend to go see Mako at this nice and cozy hair salon. She has been cutting my hair for years and her great skill always satisfies me 100%. Not only she cuts my hair perfectly but also she takes great care of my scalp. She is such a perfect hair stylist. You will never be disappointed!

Awesome salon!!!. I have NEVER gotten a bad haircut from this place -- right from the beginning this place was perfect. I have very thick Asian hair that is difficult for most stylists to cut correctly and Mako made it look like it was the easiest thing she had ever done. The stylists there work runway you know what kind of quality you are getting -- whatever it is, it is a bargain compared to going to any other NYC salon!

Want to look your best? Go see MAKO!. I met MAKO through my modeling agent years ago and have no stopped going to her for haircuts. She makes sure my hair is in tip top shape each time I see her. Her technique is top notch and I know this because when my hair grows out, my hairstyle doesn't lose shape. She's a total sweetheart, down to earth, and of course, very professional and super efficient. What I like most about MAKO is that she listens to what her clients want and delivers great style. You're in and out the door with a great haircut and feeling fabulous! When you leave her salon, you realize what a difference a great haircut makes to your day and your LIFE!!! Go see MAKO, you won't regret it!

I heart Mako!. I have known Mako for many years now and would never trust another stylist to cut my hair. She is a true gem - professional, talented, sweet and funny all in one. She takes her time and always makes sure I am happy with what she's done. Every time I am in Cocoro I feel relaxed, at home and at peace. You will too.
