Friendly staff, great service. We stayed here for a week in May 2009. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We got married during our stay and they could not do enough to help us.

We plan to go back to New York next year and we will be staying here as it had everything we needed.

Dont have your wedding there. I had my wedding there, very little air conditioning in the middle of the summer. Event manager was nowhere to be found and to top it all off they threw out all my left over food.

A busy hotel in a landmark, Art Deco building.. The Scene
This hotel sits between Rockefeller Center and the United Nations. It offers a worthy combination of modern amenities and traditional charm. The building dates to 1924, and boasts some interesting historical associations. Georgia O'Keeffe painted it in 1926, Errol Flynn swam in the original basement pool and Xavier Cugat occupied the penthouse in the 1950s.

The Details
The busy lobby has the look of a private club, with its warm oak paneling and marble floor. The 646 oversize rooms combine old-fashioned spaciousness with such up-to-date features as dual-line phones, high-speed Internet access, closet safes and hair dryers, in addition to other amenities. Concierge-level rooms take it a step further and provide a complimentary continental breakfast served in a private lounge. Dining facilities include the Shelton Grille and a comfortable lobby lounge.

Fantastic quick stay. The bed was amazing. I felt like I was at home! It could have been just because we were staying on my father's Marriott points and the entire thing was comped, but everyone from the front desk to the bell staff was amazingly helpful and accomodating. Would stay again - definitly if it was going to be free again!

Marriott dependability. Very comfy beds, helpful staff, clean room, but a bit small. Valet parking took a long time, but was due to lots of people leaving at the same time. Would definately stay here again.
