The Scene – With its sidewalk hostess station, high bar-style seating and a menu half-filled with bottle service options, this airy corner spot in the East Village clearly has cocktail-destination aspirations. However, the space's French windows and exposed ceiling beams read more like a restaurant. The crowd is a mix of neighborhood vets and party-ready interlopers, and both groups look impatient with the molasses-slow service. – – The Food – With its attention to local sourcing, the New American fare is solid enough to make one wonder why the owners downplay the…
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- Beyond the long list of premium liquors and bottle service options, the cocktail list is surprisingly rote. Opt for a caprihinia made with seasonal fresh fruit ($12) or a crisp glass of Pinot Grigio ($8).
- Live Music:
- A crypt-like live music space and private party room hides downstairs.
- Know Before You Go:
- The menu is written confusingly, so it can be hard to know what, if any, sides come with each entrees--ask your server for clarification.
- Save Money:
- Every day before 9pm, get two sandwiches and a pitcher of Harpoon IPA or UFO Hefeweizen for $20.

Bad experience
by Hunter29
Went for brunch, group of 4. Seated at 3:30 did not get our food till 5pm. Their excuse was that there was a large party today. So I guess before you go make sure there are no large parties that day. Food was Blah, spent 35 bucks for a small sandwich some lettuce tomato and little pieces of steak.
THE WORST

Terrible experience here. If you have a big group --AVOID - I had a party here and it was a complete disaster.
1. They gave me one waitress for 30 people.
2. I basically had no contact person. I kept trying to find out who the main contact and then I met Saskia - a joke. She completed ignored me the entire time and pretended not to hear me.
3. My guests overheard her talking about me on the phone with the in-house event manager. MY GUESTS were shocked.
4. I was basically busing my own tables
5. At my own party I was asking my guests if they want coffee.
6. They started to flip the tables for other guests while my guests were still sitting at the table.
7. They promised me a table for gifts. Which was no where to be found. I ask the manager Saskia - "where should my guests put their gifts if there is no table". She told me that my guests should "HOLD" on to their gifts and leave them on their lap or set them aside next to them. Have you ever been to a party holding onto your gifts"
8. Half the table got food and the other half was basically still ordering.
9. I have never in my life experience worse management. I am truly shocked that they conduct business this way.
10. Saskia - is prob. the worst manager I have ever come across.
The only upside was that my waitress was VERY sweet. Sarah - you are great. Its bad when the waitress actually feels bad for you.
Truly a disappointment.
Delish!

I bought a Groupon to try this place and boy am I glad I did. It was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible as was our waiter, Kobi, and the atmosphere was so upbeat and fun. I have already been back and plan on going many more times!
If you like flies in your food, this is the place for you
by zhenechka
We had a branch in Poco yesterday and I got a grilled fly in my plate. Worst of all that I didn't realize what was it untill finishing food. We were engaged in conversation and I didn't really pay attention to a black "thing" that I pushed aside from home fries, only to find out afterwards that it was badly burnt fly. I fought nausea throughout entire afternoon.
Horrible
Yummy Tapas

Poco just seems too cute to resist. I walked inside and really loved the hardwood decor and latin design. But I am not digging the fact that it is over 90 degrees out and all they had on were weak fans.
We tried to ignore the heat and ordered a pitcher of fusion (red & white sangria) to share. It was a good portion but the drink seems quite weak.
The food definitely impressed me though. We tried the risotto balls, fried calamari, skirt steak skewers, lobster mac and cheese, and BBQ pork mac and cheese. I think the lobster and BBQ pork mac and cheese totally rocked my world. They are small but absolutely filling. The fried calamari was also very good with its special pickles.
I hope they have their AC fixed or turned on next time I go because I don't want to sweat my butt off!
- Pros: Great Service and Yummy Tapas
- Cons: AC not working or not turned on?
