If you've spent any time in New York's old-time Spanish restaurants, you've come to expect very big lobsters served with very cheap wine and lots of delicious, garlicky Spanish comfort food. And that is what you get at Francisco's, down to the jot and tittle.
Empty soft 2lb lobsters. I have enjoyed many lobsters at Centro Vasco...Sometimes the lobsters are great, sometimes the lobsters are very sparce and the meat is "mushy"..New Years Eve is a special night that I treasure spending with my family...Last night we ordered 4 2lb lobsters...3 of these lobsters were soft and sparce...Thats $120.00, just for the lobsters!!!!! ..This isn't the first time I have experienced this ...I will not be spending my hard earned money there next year...I wanted to express my disappointment to the manager, but my family begged me not to...I feel very upset that I didn't say something...There was so little meat in three of these 2lb lobsters and the quality inferior...I left hungry and disappointed as did the others with soft, sparce 2lb lobsters...There is no reason to searve a lobster of this quality for that price...
Worst Service.
It's very sad that this place has the worst service as the food is delicious. Some of the best lobster I have had
We were thrown our salad on the table while the menus were still there; we got our food on the big platters they serve it on but not enough room on the table. When the sides were brought, they were basically on top of each other and it was impossible to eat. No plates/buckets for lobster shells. No one asked if we needed any drinks or anything else. We finally asked to eb moved to another table and the manager said that we could fit and eat where we were but he'll move us. They never checked on us the entire dinner. Had to flag down people that did not even speak English to get more sides, water, napkins. At the end, the waiter thought he was doing us a huge favor by giving us complimentary Flan (which was gross.) On our way out, I told the manager that it was the worst service I have had and his response was "sorry, my lady, it's rush hour." I didn't know that service (especially in a well-seasoned restaurant) was determined on the time of day and how busy the restaurant is. I said that it was no excuse, and again he said, "sorry my lady." I will not go back there.
Like Kings!. This is one of those places you want to keep as your own personal secret...Its that good! Service was top notch, and hands down best lobster I've ever had...and I've eaten my share.
Delicious. This place is awesome! One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Tasty Seafood... We had the lunch we ordered soup,a main dish, and DESSERT. Soup was delish, the seafood stew was a little cold but very flavorful, and the beignets were so scrumptious, light, and tasty. Total came out to about $30 a person. Everything was good staff was very friendly. I'd come back.
Needed a wheelbaroow. My wife and I just had another fabulous meal tonight. A five pound fresh lobster was 80 bucks, all fixins included (salad, green beans, tasty chips). We asked for a pillow at the end of the super meal, but they brought us a free desert to split. They rock!!
Quick attentive service.
generous portions, go hungry. on a busy Friday nite we were seated within 10min. waiters were very attentive and courteous.
Order the Jumbo Shrimp - YUMMmmmm!
Really good lobster-tail but the shrimp was awesome !
Excellent Lunch Menu. I've been to this place several times, but only for lunch. It's an amazing amount of food for such reasonable (actually, excellent) prices. the bread is always fresh and warm and the salad dressing is tangy (maybe a bit too tangy, but the bread neutralizes it). I recommend the lobster stuffed sole and the shrimp. Last time I went, I arrived a few minutes too late to order from the lunch menu, but the waiter let it slide and served us anyway. That's my definition of hospitality. Well done, and highly recommended.
Not so great anymore. There are a lot of places in this city that offer better paella, sangria etc for the same price or even cheaper. The atmosphere isn't an attraction at all. It's full of tourists thinking they are getting some sort of "deal". My paella was so overcooked and not too tasty. Take a pass on this place and go to alma de cuba.
This is the one of the best places for Lobester in Manhattan!!. I had the lobester pieces with the red sauce and I loved it. I like the fact you can order lobster by the pound from a 1 pound lobster up to 20 pound lobster. This place is a must for lobster lovers. The prices are reasonable too.
