Tips for Famous Amadeus Pizza

The worst take out I have ever ordered after living in NYC for 12 years. The pizza was inedible. There was a 1 inch slab of cold cheese stacked on top of an accordion pleated pie that had slid all the way across the box en route. The wings were tasteless. The bleu cheese dip tasted industrial and rancid. The dressing was pure balsamic vinegar not balsamic vinaigrette. Please save your money – do not order from this place!!!

THE WORST!!!. This is regarding their Amsterdam Ave store. I purchased a Groupon for two appetizers, a large 2-topping pizza and a two-liter bottle of soda.

The guy on the phone told me that Groupon had failed to add the tax so that it would cost me another $3.15, I accepted that, telling him it was understandable. He then told me to deliver the order, their store is exactly three (3) blocks away from where I live, would be $9.65. Are you serious? This place is a total ripoff. They are, not only, unethical, but from reading other reviews, apparently not very good, food wise.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll get my money back from Groupon, no problem, but this place deserves to be run out of business for their questionable business practices.

$9.65...even a taxi would not cost them $9.65 to go three blocks.

No pepparoni on a regular slice?. Hopped off a tour bus at Times Square when I seen a Ray's - been along time since I had a NY slice. Very long line out the door, not much selection I asked for a pepperoni slice and the guy started putting pepperoni on a sicilian slice, I said no I want a regular slice. He could barley speak english, but he said no pepperoni on the regular slice. WTH why can't I have pepperoni on a regular slice. Sooo I had a plain cheese - it was good but - what's the big deal to add pepperoni- I still don't get it?

great pizza/rude service. I ordered pizze from this store, and said I'd pick it up in about ten minutes. I took a taxi to get there, spent money to get there from my home. When I arrived, the people behind the counter told me they remembered speaking with me, but had not prepared the pizza. Only AFTER I arrived did they start preparing. The only problem with their waiting until I arrived was that I had to pay my taxi while he stood and waited. I explained to the people behind the counter how the whole reason for calling in advance was so that they actually prepare the pizza IN ADVANCE. I received a blank stare, and rudeness. It's a shame. The pizza is great, but the service is crappy and rude. I will not go back. I'd prefer to be treated like a human being. SHAME!!!

best pizza. What a great alternative to delivery. I'm still on the hunt for the best pizza in NY and I think that Amadeus pizza company is in the running. I love their pizza and it's better than delivery because you can pick it up and make it when you want. It only takes 10 minutes and it's so much better than delivery. Even I can't mess that up!

Jail food would be a better choice. This has to be the worst food I have ever eaten. You are better off going to your local deli and buying frozen pizza or pasta and microwaving it. Soggy pizza borderline sweaty flavorless pasta, smelly mushy calamari. We threw everything out! ugggg beware.. The other reviews were either by family members or people forced to review against their will. No New Yorker would Take a second Bite

the smell takes you in. f you pass in front of this place you can't help but be drawn inside. The quirkiness of the window display and the smell of the food are too inviting. But the slowest service will make sure you dont get value for money.

If the crowds of new york are proving too much, head here. It's sure to perk you up and bring a smile to your face if you are not expecting a fast service

Excellent Pizza, Terrible Service. Delicious Pizza. There's nothing I can add that other users haven't already said; pizza had wonderful doughy crust, zesty sauce (perhaps a little dry), cheese firmly in place and not swimming around (i.e. not overwhelming the sauce). Expansive menu including variety of salads and hoagies, but none of which I can speak to.

Service is what you'd expect from a parlor like this, maybe a little below. On one occasion, there was an Egyptian behind the counter at the Chelsea location who was astonishingly condescending, confrontational, and rude, not just to me but making fun of other patrons who either just leave the store or have their backs turned (and in case you're wondering how I know he's Egyptian, it's because he spent half the time making jokes about Asians and African-Americans that I had to ask). (Perhaps his humor was lost in translation?) Ultimately, uncomfortable and harassing. Other occasions haven't been special either; not friendly staff, can be surprisingly SLOW at times.

Atmosphere is non-existent. Then again, you can't eat that and for the price and quality of the pizza, very few top.
