“understand the mixed reviews, I guess it depends on what day you go, I went on a Wednesday, the restaurant was not full AT ALL, and the service was still very poor, and the servers were NOT friendly.”

Basically, Gabriella's is Dos Caminos for families. It's part of the same restaurant group, Alicart, and the menu is nearly indistinguishable from its downtown twin. Which is to say that it's Americanized Mexican, but well-executed, tasty, and delivered with the snappy service one would expect of a corporate restaurant chain. Which is not a bad thing.
Amazing Night. I took a first date to this spot last night and it couldn't have been better. The waiters were amazing and they couldn't have been nicer. The food was great and the drinks were perfect. I think our second date might be there also.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere. Once again, the UWS trumps the UES in food options - Gabriela's is a wonderful, neighborhoody Mexican restaurant with wonderful drinks and a surprisingly fantastic brunch menu. They are accomodating of families and large groups but not an obviously "kid-friendly" (read: sticky, annoying) venue and it is a perfect spot for hanging out with kid-free folks when your toddler is in tow!
I like..... I used to be afraid to try Mexican food before I tried Gabriela's, lol. This place was awesome and delicious! Great tipsy crowd here, and they have a bar on wheels that follows you around!
Real good Mexican!. Great place to kick back, have a few beers. The service wasn't that quick, but we were really in no rush. It's nice here in the summer cause you can sit outside, but unfortunately it's getting a lil colder now. Great tacos and quesedillas. Margaritas are a bit too sweet for me, but i liked the mojitos and they got a variety of different beerss
Ridiculously good drinks, great finger foods. Didn't really go crazy with trying their entrees, but the drinks we had from that bar that they move around from one place to another were really something else. The drinks come in HUGE cups and are very strong. Two margaritas will probably do a number on you. The tacos and all the little appetizer dishes we got were perfect for the occasion, not too filling and enough to keep you satisfied.
Great quesedillas, huge drinks. This place is AWESOME! Food was great, fun atmosphere, very cool people. It's really exciting here on a crowded night! Great drinks too!
Most fun i've had a in while. Last time I was here I had a BLAST! We started off with tequilas and margarita's...and we finished off with tequlia's and margaritas. We ordered a bunch of appetizers--tacos and guac--and that was some great finger food! The guac was fresh full of flavor, the tacos were good, and one of our friends got the enchillada dish which we all kind of stole from him, lol. We were here on a weekend, so it was kind of a party atmosphere. Great for meeting people, eating a light meal, and just kicking back with a group of friends. There's music here, they have TV's by the bar with all World Cup playing and it can kind of become a madhouse at times. Really a fun place!
Best Mexican i've tried in Manhattan.
Food: delicious Mexican. Enchilladas are spectacular. The chicken is legendary and probably the best thing there.
Service: a bit slow a busy nights but very friendly and corteous.
Decor: Trendy, a nice place to sit outside. A bit crowded but a fun atmosphere with lots of good looking people!
Drinks: amazing margaritas, every possible type of tequila you can imagine, staff knows everything about liquor.
Specials: They have half-price happy hours on weekdays and all their drinks are incredible. It's a really nice place to go to after work.
Location: Right on Columbus on the UWS. Best place to have a great time in this neighborhood!
Excellent for delivery. We ordered a couple of dishes for delivery and the food was there within 20 minutes , and we’re about 10 blocks from the restaurant. It was still nice and hot, and definitely the best Mexican food in the area. Honestly though, there are like a million Asian fusion places within a 5 block radius competing with each other with, and oftentimes, with the same exact food. Gabriela’s spices things up a bit and gives you some authentically Mexican tacos, enchiladas, and great black bean soup. I haven’t actually been inside yet, but need to definitely do that at some point soon…
