  1. The ingredients are fresh, and the pate they use for the classic sandwich is tasty.
  2. great sandwich - great price
  3. preferred Viet-Nam Banh Mi for it's spicy #3 sandwich, not to mention the awesome price of $3 per huge sandwich.
  4. However, finding a place to enjoy the delicious rubber banded package was sometimes difficult, especially with the rain these days.
  5. The Grilled Pork Summer Roll is also a great hit as the meat is tender and the flavor wakes your taste buds.
  6. loved the name, and since bahn mi sandwiches are my favorite, I decided to try the classic sandwich.
  7. This place is my favorite spot on christopher - you get a delicious sandwich for 5-6 bucks.
  8. Written up in GQ as one of the best in Bahn Mi sandwiches - the hype lives up to its name with the tasty pork and the crispy bread.
  9. liked Nikki's for its convenience to my apartment but found their classic sandwich's pate was a bit fishy tasting, and opted for their portobello instead.
  10. At $6, this is a great deal for a sandwich that is full in flavor.

The Best Little Sandwich Place Pho' Real!

by flipcityguy

This little hidden gem on Christopher Street is the best kept secret on the block - Pho' Sure! Written up in GQ as one of the best in Bahn Mi sandwiches - the hype lives up to its name with the tasty pork and the crispy bread. At $6, this is a great deal for a sandwich that is full in flavor. For dinner, get the Grilled Hanger Steak or one of the Pho noodles - Pho' Real & Pho' Sure. The names may be corny but the bracing broth and the noodles with the tendon and meats make it a dish worthy of saying the name with fervor. The Grilled Pork Summer Roll is also a great hit as the meat is tender and the flavor wakes your taste buds. They are planning to add a dessert menu soon and I hope that happens with shaved ice and condensed milk goodies. Come in a group of 4 for now as the place is cozy in square footage. But as they say, precious things come in small packages! For a good time in Vietnam, this is the place to be in the West Village.

  • Pros: Great Bahn Mi, Affordable Prices, Superb Flavors
  • Cons: No Desserts, Limited Seating

Perfect fast lunch place

by mimishim

I've been a frequent customer at Nikki's in East Village and the Viet-Nam Banh Mi So 1 in Nolita. I liked Nikki's for its convenience to my apartment but found their classic sandwich's pate was a bit fishy tasting, and opted for their portobello instead.

I preferred Viet-Nam Banh Mi for it's spicy #3 sandwich, not to mention the awesome price of $3 per huge sandwich. However, finding a place to enjoy the delicious rubber banded package was sometimes difficult, especially with the rain these days...

I was walking down Christopher St. (a walk I do often) and stumbled upon this bahn mi sandwich place. I loved the name, and since bahn mi sandwiches are my favorite, I decided to try the classic sandwich. I was impressed! The ingredients are fresh, and the pate they use for the classic sandwich is tasty. I ordered mine spicy, and it had jalapenos in it, which I like, but be careful it's very spicy! Also a big plus is the nice interior. There are booths in the back room for larger parties and high bar stools with tables for 1-2 people who are just grabbing a bite. The staff is very friendly.

  • Pros: yummy sandwiches, cheap, good atmosphere
