Great spot before heading home!. I visited from Norway last month (sorry if english not so good!) with my friend from Sweden after seeing the good feedback. I don't always trust reviews but almost everything that I heard was true of Velour! Charming doorguy, great house drinks, and we were taken care of immediately after walking in. (Also my friend's birthday that night) A perfect sendoff before going back home the next day. DJ played EVERYTHING we wanted and met people there (cool not creepy) who helped us celebrate. A great place all around!

Great spot to bring visiting relatives. I brought some cousins with me from Germany and we were going to catch a show on 29th but we decided to stop by this joint before hand. We were surprised by the artwork on the walls and nice ambiance to the place. Music was good and everyone was polite and generous. We decided to catch the later show instead after the place got hopping around 10:30. Best thing I liked was the decor and overall vibe. Would go back.

My girls had a blast!. Well I came here for my best friends birthday last week not knowing what to expect. I must say that I was unexpectedly surprised! Loved the specialty drinks especially the 'velour' and the guy behind the bar was really nice to us all night, not to mention the server for our table. Did I mention the music rocks?! I think we may have closed down the place...I want to go back for my birthday next month! Check it out.

Fantastic Birthday Night!. I arrived around 9:30 with a group of 5 to celebrate my birthday in late December. Because we called in advance my friends and I were treated to free house Champagne right after sitting down, nice! We stayed later than I thought because we got so comfortable and the service was great...look forward to a return visit!

Citysearch Editorial Review. This red-lit Chelsea hybrid is part sceney hot spot, part local bar. The early crowd is a scrum of after-work types with tucked-in shirts leaning against the tall bar with no stools (better when the DJ and packed-in dancing vibe takes hold). Velour fabric drapes pleat from floor to ceiling, around an all-but claustrophic seating area with too many ottomans and small tables, and a perimeter of deep-set red banquettes. In keeping with the gallery district locale, Velour showcases work by new, local artists and the space is equipped with 50-inch plasmas and a 110-inch HD projection screen for film exhibitions. Highlights include an inventive drink menu and cheap food served all night, but the $20 cover starting at midnight makes it more suited to pre-gaming, possibly before heading to higher-end neighbors like Marquee.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. velour is an amazing establishement. The atmosphere is smooth and sylish. The service is amazing. andrew is the best. The DJ plays a mix of new and old pop music. I was on the dance floor the entire night. To all who go to velour, I would strongly recommend one thing ------- The Coconut Bliss -------Amazing!!!!!!!

Yes he is hot. Is a great place to have a birthday party they make you feel like you own the place and great service. I being there to many times with my boyfriend and friends he loves this place is no attitude at the door the other door guys think they have to put a show to make them selfs feel important they should lear some manners from this bad %#! guy at Velour. This is the only place in Chelsea that i will recommend for a great night out.

THE HOTTEST DOOR MAN IN MANHATTAN. The place is beautiful, drinks are much less expensed than anybody else around, no cover, music is great and no waiting on line, i do have to say that i have never seeing a well dress, educated and great looking door man in Manhattan he is just a GENTLEMAN. I being going to Velour for the past two months with my friends and i have seeing the change every weekend gets better inside out. If you are looking to have fun with no BS this is the place to go and ladies don't get exacted the door guy has a girl friend i check already. I highly recommended

A nice place to drink.. I vcame here for the first time in a long time this past Friday and wow has this spot has changed alot over the past year. It used to be a divey dump called Bright Bar, now it has been renovated and upgraded into a pretty nice little lounge with resonable drink prices. If you are tired of being price gouged and treated like garbage elsewhere on the block this is another option you should check out. Good group of staff too.

FUN Spot in Chelsea. Had a great night out with my buddies this past Saturday night at Velour Lounge. I normally go to the other clubs on the block of West 27th Street but I was tired of the attitude of the doorman. Therefore, I went to Velour and had no problem at door, very professional door man, bartenders were very speedy while service was excellent, with nice curtails and intimate decor, music was great , dj played hip-hop, house, 80s pop all mixed very well. The crowd was mixed and mature. I highly recommend this venue.
