“Good beer selections (craft beers).”
Great food, beer, won't break the bank. Nice young hip crowd. I came with about 6 people and everyone left satisfied. Tell em Johny send ya'
Great food, beer, ambiance.
All beers are $5. Some of the high alcohol, hoity toidy beers are served in smaller glasses, but they're all the same price. It's a little place, so it can get crowded. The crowd is a friendly one, spilling over from table to table, with plenty of cross conversation, picture taking, and shmoozing.
For such a small place (no waiter service) the big surprise is THE FOOD. It's excellent. I had the shrimp torta and wow!! I'd go back just for that. And the potato chips are NOT out of a Frito-Lay bag. They're homemade and a meal in themselves. The only negative is the music, which is way too loud for casual conversation. Otherwise, this place is a keeper!
Great Bar and Pretty Good Food.
Can't beat the prices of the various lagers at this joint- priced at either $4 or $5 which is a steal in Manhattan. It's You can keep track of what you drink and if you reach 100 beers you get a T-shirt.
Also have good Grilled Cheeses and soft pretzels and I didn't try the Pork sandy but that smelt delicious!
Worth the destination location.
Yes, this is an odd neighborhood. But it is a welcome addition.
(It will give you an excuse to head over there in the even that places like Rudy's & Hallo Berlin weren't enough for you)
They too offer Growlers for take home. Ah, take out craft beer where were you in my extended youth?
Great pub grub to go with your never ending choice of pints.
A midtown bar with a library of 250-plus brews.. This friendly, bustling midtown bar lures singles, locals and beer aficionados alike. Although it’s not a brewpub, Pony Bar acts like one, with 20 American drafts on tap (the chalkboard menu is updated throughout the day by staffers to reflect the rotating cast of brands available). Two more beers are served from hand-pumped casks, resulting in richer, warmer brews. When a tap runs dry, a bell sounds and customers shout to ring in the new. The decor--from the Neil Young photo to the American flag mounted on the ceiling--adds to the patriotic experience.
